An immaculate, beautiful bed and breakfast with everything you need to hand and with every little touch thought of. Sue and Alan will welcome you immediately to their lovely renovated farm house and give advice on the area. Breakfast is at your time choice - fresh fruit, juice, coffee/tea, croissants, cereals, toast, English Breakfast cooked on the Aga. It kept us going all day (we certainly didn't need lunch!). We sat at the table and watched the birds on both sides of the house, and there were lambs in the fields from every view.
The large double bedroom wiith high ceilings and lovely beams was a gem. The bathroom with amazing double shower and elegant bath had everything. There were fresh flowers, Molton Brown toiletries, lovely white fluffy bath robes and towels provided. Tea/coffee/bottled water and biscuits provided in the bedroom and replenished every day.
We couldn't fault a thing! Sue and Alan are obviously very proud of their home, and it shows. There were no hidden dirty corners that you get in some places. It really felt like returning home each night after a day sightseeing the area or walking.
You can walk about 1/2 a mile down the quiet road to the Sportsmans Arm's in Wath - very good food, or easily pop to Pately Bridge for other choices. The views to the resevoir and across the dale over the Nidderdale Way are lovely.
We will definitely be returning. We loved this bed and breakfast, and the Nidderdale area was beautiful. We stayed 3 nights and it really wasn't long enough. We drove up to some of the other dales, and were very glad we'd chosen to stay in Nidderdale. Wath/Pateley Bridge are also in an excellent location for visiting Harrogate, Howe Stean Gorge, Black Sheep Brewery, Theakston Brewery, Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey. Loads of lovely walks from the doorstep. We drove up to and walked around the Scar House Resevoir.
We would highly recommend this bed and breakfast.
