The lodge is beautiful with a gorgeous view over Tryphena Harbour. It provides access to a remarkable island 50 miles off the coast from Auckland. The lodge would be worth a visit by itself but what really sets Earthsong apart is the food. We have four remarkable dinners accompanied by some wonderful New Zealand wines.

We spent 2 weeks in New Zealand. One of the highlights of our visit was the time spent at the Great Barrier Island and the Earthsong Lodge. Trevor and Carol were terrific and the caesar salad prepared at our table was the best we have ever had. The island itself is worth seeing. The accomodations and food were excellent and worth the time and money.

After three wonderful weeks traveling all over New Zealand, we ended our trip with a two-night stay at Earthsong Lodge on Great Barrier Island. The island itself is a pristine paradise, with perfect beaches at every turn in the road. But the Lodge was the jewel in the crown. Sitting high on a hill, surrounded by olive trees, the Lodge is a tranquil oasis, a restful place to start and end each day. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, with breathtaking views, of both the ocean below and the mountains above. Trevor prepares both breakfast and dinner. The food is healthy, fresh, and prepared with all the love and attention of a serious gourmet. The service is exquisite. Carol is the perfect hostess, and every detail and courtesy is extended to the guests. If you are looking for luxury, this is the place to go.

The lodge is very remote and quiet, with beautiful views back onto the Coromandel. It’s perfect for watching the sunset. Trevor and Carol were great hosts. The food was fabulous and the quiet atmosphere was perfect for the romantic night I had planned. I cannot think of one thing that Earthsong could do better. We will be back for our next special occasion.
