“Paradise on the Coast”

We live in Fiji and our son was coming to celebrate his 21st birthday in Dec 2011 with his prtner and 10 friends, they spent the first 6 days on Robinson Crusoe Island 2 days sailing with PJ sailing Adventures and their last 5 days at the Beach house. What a great place to end their Fiji experience. I chose the Beach house as it is firstly a very safe enviorment for so many, the dorms are very clean, the food is awesome and at a great price and the bar prices are even better. I had only planned for them to stay 3 nights, but they were all having a great time I extended . When my husband and I are staying down the Coral Coast , we like nothing better than to spend a few hours having lunch and a few drinks at the beach house, the hammocks are comfortable, the beach is inviting and the bar is always open .

“Fijian paradise on the beach-like the islands but with more to do”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

This place is special. Best atmosphere of anywhere I've stayed in Fiji-really friendly typical Fijian hospitality which is awesome.

Like staying at your best friend's beachhouse (if your best friend is Ben Harper) - in paradise.

It rained the whole time I was there but it was still awesome-lots of activities and communal space to meet other travelers or do your own thing. We got one breath taking sunset which was priceless-can only imagine how nice it would be in the sun. I'll have to come back again to find out.

“Could be so much better, if only there was better service!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

POSITIVE: Beachouse has a very nice location, right on the beach. There are cool hammocks to relax in and a rope swing. Snorkelling right off the beach wasn't bad. We stayed in one of the Garden rooms, which was nice enough but lacked a little in the privacy department. Free breakfasts were pretty good. Dinner food was only okay. There are lots of other guests.
NEGATIVE: The service was truly terrible. The employees use the place as a hangout spot, so it's hard to know who's on the job and who's off the job. Either way it didn't seem to matter, because all of the employees seemed to be playing pool, or checking their cell phones or email when you wanted to ask them a question. The owner (at least he introduced himself as the owner) was a kind of a strange bird, sort of rude. The activities seemed to be run by a bunch of independent contractors, who hang around the hotel and try to entice you into 'their' activity, rather than by a central coordinator who can provide objective information/ recommendations based on what you want to do. Beer prices weren't great (about $5 for a beer). All in all, not sure if I'd come back under the current management.

“Good all round resort.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

Had a mostly young backpackers feel to this ramshackle resort but there were other age guests represented so pretty much accessible to all. Loads of activities on offer all of which were affordable like horse riding, massages and snorkelling, although not the best example of a coral reef in the world, at around £5 per person, guess you can’t really complain.

Amazing sunsets, secluded beach, free wifi and good dorms added to the appeal. Only complaints were a strangely moody receptionist guy and the food was pretty bad and expensive for what it was, they had a curry night whilst we were there and was disappointed with it after queuing for ages and getting a cold, small, bad tasting meal. Can’t have it all!

“Home.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

I loved the Beachouse soooo much. Words can't describe how fantastic it was. The people were so nice and welcoming. It really felt like home. The place is gorgeous and clean. The food was fantastic. There is so much to do. I could live there for years and never get bored. I have never been so sad to leave a place that i had only been for 5 days. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life, and I will never forget anyone that i met there. I'm going to go back there one day. I need to. It was amazing.

Room Tip: I stayed in the cheapest rooms they offered and loved it. They were clean and quiet. I can't ima...
