We were in Italy in October and were going to Abruzzo and needed a place to overnight with collection from the airport ( which was free)
We landed at Ciampino Airport and had arranged to spend two nights at the B&B.
We were met at the airport and driven to the house which was about ten minutes away . We were greeted by Mary who is a wonderful friendly Canadian woman who is married to Mario a lovely gentle Italian. We didn't arrive until 12 am so went to bed.
The room and the house was very pretty and homely.
It was very clean and had a balcony looking out on to the garden.
The next morning the smell of breakfast wafted up the stairs.
The breakfast was huge with fruit and juice ,bread and eggs and bacon. Loads of coffee and tea.
The best thing of all about the B&B is Mary and Mario themselves.
They offer so much advice on travel and where and what to see and there kindness can not overstated.
Although we were not visiting Rome ourselves this time , Alberogemello would make a very good base without having to pay the high costs of tourist Rome while still being only a short distance away .
Across the road a little Hostaria has opened in the last couple of months with sublime food at excellent prices .
So if you are looking for a stopover and free collection from the airport like we were or a place to stay to discover the real Rome with kind caring people Alberogemello may be just the place to try
