I get the distinct impression that you get served promptly if you know the manager/staff - if not, you could be in for a long wait.
We booked a table to celebrate a birthday and arrived on time. We were the first in the restaurant so thought we would be served quite quickly (how wrong we were!). Four or five other tables were served with starters and/or mains before we had anything. After an hour of waiting we asked if we were going to get our meals and were told "yes, don't worry about it". 10 minutes after that our food arrived with no apology and on ridiculous plates/chopping boards.
Well, it ruined the birthday and we're so disappointed as we really loved the place up until then. All it needed to make it better was an apology - not too much to ask is it??
