“Little touches go a long way!!”

Overall had a great stay in a lochside apartment with great views of loch awe and surrounding hills. The apartment itself was spacious with fitted kitchen, living room and upstairs double bedroom. Kitchen itself was nice but could do with instructions with cooker etc and were power are hidden!! Also there was no dishtowels and running hot water on our last day. The central heating was never on and made a noise during the night which was hard to sleep through! But for taking the dog away it was perfect and will definetly return!

“Weekend Away”

The Lodge we stayed in was fantastic. Lovely place and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

The Hotel on the other hand was a different matter. The staff seemed to be mainly foreign(polish mostly) and either did not seem to have a clue what they were doing or did not seem to care. The British staff we encountered at the hotel were very hospitable and charming, which is more than can be said for thier foreign workers. At one point we were chased out of the restaraunt by an angry Italian looking waiter who shouted "Get out of here! we closed now, go to lounge, someone come and serve you there!" this left me angry and shocked as all we were looking for was a coffee! the only reason we wandered into the resteraunt was because there was nobody around the deserted hotel!

My advice to the owners? and i am not being racist in any way shape or form...bin the foreign workers, or at least replace them with People that actually seem to want to be there. They all seemed cold, uninterested, unfriendly and generally incompetant.

Apart from the hotel and the majority of its staff the weekend was very nice and the lodges were a fantastic place to stay.

There isnt much to do around the Porsonachan Area but if you are just looking to get away for a few days or perhaps do a bit of fishing i would recommed getting one of the Lodges....just stay away from the hotel!

Room Tip: Get a lodge, do not stay in the hotel!

“great lodge and location - lacks organisation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

we wanted a getaway for a couple of nights of peace and relaxation just the two of us and our little dog, we saw this on groupon - perfect so we booked - 2 night stay in a 1 bed cabin with breakfast hamper. When booked over the phone we were offered a free upgrade to a 2 bed cabin with hot tub and sauna as they were quiet, confirmed check in was 3pm but we were reassured we would be able to check in earlier, confirmation email recieved stated two bed cabin including full breakfast both days as well as 1 evening meal.
Driving 6 hours to get to this amazing scenic spot we arrived at 1.30pm and were told we had only the original 1 bed lodge, but confirmed breakfast and evening meal still applicable. also we were unable to check in as the previous occupiers of the lodge hadnt checked out as there little boy had been ill (fair do's). So we took our dog for a walk and returned at 3pm we were then told they still needed to check if the lodge was ready and told to wait in the bar, where we waited for 45 mins for someone to come with keys, when we made our way to skiebo lodge, we were very satisfied with the cabin, heaters were on and it was warm cosy and very clean, got up early next morn to go for breakfast, only to recieve a phonecall from hotel to say breakfast and evening meals were not part of our deal (although this had been confirmed by email and in person upon check in) instead our breakfast hamper consisted of - loaf of bread, jar of jam, milk, orange juice and block of lard. we explained we had only fetched provisions for 1 evening meal and were told shop nearby (where?), more problems upon check out where we were initially invoiced wrongly and our electricty usage (only mentioned in small print on internet) was far over estimated, it took us 10 mins to check out and while we were correcting our invoice - gent from neighbouring 2 bed cabin just passed keys over and left, he wasnt asked for any electricity or payment, and when I asked the receptionist if he would have had any electricity to settle - he said 'yeah cheeky git, he'll be recieving a strong email from me' which I doubt - the place itself was fantastic, remote and veiws fab - but all the little details and paperwork cock ups made a such fabulos location more of an average stay, real shame...

“Absolutely Fabulous”

This is the first time I have ever written a review for a website but I wanted to share this hidden gem with you beautiful people because it is amazing.

I stayed in Kilchurn Lodge which has everything, views, sauna, hot tub, wildlife and we have had such a relaxing enjoyable time as a family.

We went to the hotel for evening meals which was great food and the staff were so friendly and helpful and advised us where to go for local attractions in the day.

We booked the hotel at a local show and for the price we paid we received 5* treatment.
we loved it and have rebooked to go back in the children's summer holidays.

Room Tip: Kilchurn Lodge perfect for families

lodge had inadquit heating bottom level had 2 dimplex heaters with not enough heat to heat a lodge as old as these ones temperature in bedrooms and especially bathrooms minus 2 not acceptable had to sleep in the upstairs living room which heats up eventually no wonder you have to pay for your electricity it must be expensive to heat if it ever does heat didnt wait long enough to find out left early the next morning .forgot to mention you cant drink the tap water its not clean enough how can this be a luxury lodge total nightmare thanks for ruining my birthday ,and never again.

Room Tip: dont get a lodge when its cold .
