We just came back from a 2 week stay in one of the apartments in the Riviera Barbati resort. All in all a nice stay, below we summarised our main pros and cons:
1. Very nicely situated on the beach, with a medium-sized pool very nearby. Great sea view.
2. For Greece, the accomodation was very well equipped (including a washing machine which comes in handy when traveling with a six month old baby, as well as airconditioning in each room). However, if you expect 4 or 5 star luxury you will be disappointed.
3. Corfu is a beautiful and green island. The green surroundings come at a price though: it does rain sometimes (during our stay mid September on about a quarter of the days, sometimes quite a lot, but by no means the entire day). In addition, you definitely need to bring your musquito repellant, otherwise you will spent more time scratching than enjoying yourself.
4. Barbati is a small quiet place, without any cultural sights to see, but does have various restaurants, tavernas and bars. Contrary to our experience in other parts of Greece, the food in every one of them is OK, but far from special. The menu is more international tourist food (pizzas, pastas, burgers, though all home made in Greek style) combined with (sometimes unoriginal) Greek or local dishes.
5. The locals are very used to tourists, but even in September (which is quite a long way into their tourist season) remain very, very friendly and helpful.
Riviera Barbati is to be recommended if you seek rest, sun and nice surroundings.
