“Good but not great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

Been there in the middle of October for a short break.
The staff are as good as it has been said in the previous reviews (except the restaurant manager who thinks he's got a chip on his shoulder) so I don't think is anything to add on that.
Regarding the rooms if you what to have any rest in the day avoid the 7th floor as underneath the main restaurant and reception area and you can hear everything from above. On the small side with more beds than needed ( we booked 4 double rooms and all of us got rooms with 3 and even 4 beds...) but acceptable. Bathrooms could definatley do with an update.
Food was ok even that one of us (it allways has to be a fussy one) complained about the lack of choice.
Weather wasn't too bad and even that we had one cloudy day there where plenty of things to do and nobody got bored (archery, voleyball, tennis, canoeing and evening entertainment - as part of the all inclusive package)
The main inconvenient was the fact that neither of the swimming pools were heated (the sea was warmer than the swimming pools).
If you are going with the family and/or friends and you are looking for an entertaining agitated place this is an ok hotel in a lovely area and if the price is right then i would recommend it.

Room Tip: Choose a room between 6th and 3rd floor

“All things considered was pretty good fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

We travelled here and enjoyed the short flight and transfer. We usually do long haul and minimum 4 star all inclusive. This was a last minute getaway and we arrived open minded as this was Ibiza and a family resort.
The hotel reception and check in was quick and efficient and as far as the room goes it was clean and adequate with the only criticism being, it is a bit dated, but the fact is, its somewhere to sleep.
The stunning 360 degree view of the bay, beach and hotel complex made up for the room as we spent more time on the balcony than in the room. The lifts are slow and not very big but being on the fourth floor made it easier to walk as we were halfway, between the dining area or exit to the complex. The bar on level 0 is large clean and has a terrace overlooking the pool which is comfortable and a real sun trap. The bar on level 8 only opens at 21.00 hrs and is small and rather slow with serving. The dining room is lovely with stunning views of the whole area. The food is good with a great cooked breakfast, cereal, etc. the only down side is the domestic toasters. The lunch spread is cooked food and salads and varies from day to day and not too repetitive. Evening meals are also good with soups, bread and a variety of dishes. A Chinese restaurant is available once per week and is great also. The Western bar on the ground level is a burger and chip snack stop and a livelier bar as it is next to the stage where the entertainment takes place. This has activities for the kids during the day and is also where you meet for various activities such as archery, French bowls and other interactive past times. The evening mini disco and kids games are followed by various adult games and live entertainment which you cant help joining in with no matter how old you are.
We enjoyed strolling around the very friendly resort and used the bar at the Beach club hotel also which is included within the complex. This is a safe family environment and is very clean and well maintained as are both pools. Pleasantly surprised by the whole ambience of the resort, although, the staff speak very little English so best brush up on your Spanish.

Room Tip: aim for the fourth floor as it is midway and easier to walk if you cant get the lift as these are sl...

“Lovely Family Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

We have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel and we were pleasantly surprised with how great out trip was! Yes with every hotel there was some bad points but overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Room/Hotel- I travelled with my family sharing a room, considering my brother, sister and myself are all 'grown up' now we were concerned about what size it would be. The room itself was huge, plenty of room for suitcases with two massive wardrobes to hold everything. Whilst it was open plan the layout of the room made it look as if there were defined rooms. We also had a big balcony with table and chairs overlooking the San Miguel resort. I can only think of one negative with the room being the bathroom, it was spacious though the shower looked a little old and there was quite a big chip in the bathtub so could do with some refurb there. The only negative about the functioning of the hotel is the 2 lifts. Theres 8 floors between the reception/dining area and the lowest floor to get down to the beach and surrounding areas, these run really slowly and they aren't that big so taking into account prams, luggage and people it does get quite frustrating.

Location-This hotel is sat amongst a couple of other hotels in the bay. The beach is a five minute walk from the hotel we chose to go here most of the time as the swimming pool was crowded. People are always going to get the sunbeds early, we watched the morning we left as people in the other hotels were getting up and getting the sunbeds. We paid 4.50 euros for the sunbeds, not best but being on the beach there was quite a few activities that we could also do when there (canoeing, pedalos and various other water sports). Along the beach there are also a couple of shops which is handy for essentials too. Word of warning with going down the side stone steps to the beach, this is quite steep and I did actually slip one day scraping my back and wrist-I was lucky and this could have been worse so just take care.

Food-Being all inclusive there was quite a range of foods-salad bar, hot food and themed dinner nights too. The salad bar was quite simple and most dishes seemed to contain raisens which is fine if you like that but I sat picking them out! The hot food was a bit hit and miss though we really enjoyed the fish dishes and paella. Watch out for the fish night-fresh salmon, mussels, prawns and octopus lush. We didn't try any of the food at either restaurants on sight, we did visit the western saloon on our arrival date as we had just missed lunch, the food was ok though it did taste a little cheap, the ice cream was nice and generous and the popcorn comes a handy treat whilst watching the evening entertainment.

Staff-We had absolutely no problem with staff whilst here everyone being polite and helpful. At our last dinner the staff presented us with a bottle of wine which was also very tasty. I will put a very strong shout out on here to the entertainment staff. As I said we are all of older age though found the evening entertainment to be brilliant, Zorro is a very funny leader getting everyone involved. Earlier on in the evenings they have a clown doing dancing with children, my 18 year old brother enjoyed this so much he actually joined in with the routines. For children though theres also a lot of daytime activities advertised around the hotel so suites their taste too.

Overall I really would recommend this hotel, in particular though to families, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly consider coming back.

“Awful ...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2011

We will start with the positive points :
- The view is beautiful from the balcony of your room
- The sheets are changed and the room is cleaned every day.
- Air con. is free and works well for our case. But another customer said us that his air con. didn't do cool air. So we think it depends on your room and your luck :)

Then, the negative points :
- Security. The keys of the room can be given to anyone as the receptionist never check your id before handing in the keys. (Four guys came into the room of two girls in the middle of the night while they were sleeping ...)
- The food : you cannot call it a restaurant. "Cantine" seems more appropriate. It's a self and despite the large choice, the food is unappetizing and the taste is really bad. It's fat, it stinks. The room is very noisy, like in a cantine. The waitress cleans the table just next to you and put it in the rubish just next to you too ...
In a word, a very noisy cantine.
*About the all inclusive : if you are looking for hangovers, the alcool is free and unlimited until 11pm. Probably why the package is so expensive (compared to the quality of the food). You pay alcool and they have no more money for a good food ...
- The room : we will just speak about our case. We were at the first floor and it was like being in a basement. A subtil mix of wet and sewer smell.(don't even think about tidying up your stuff in the wardrobe...)
Moreover, if you are looking for a calm place to stay in, avoid this resort. Many animations are proposed until midnight and it's very, very noisy.
- The beach : it could be very nice but people just made it a rubish. Plastic cups, beer bottles, food and even ... flight tickets are thrown out on the sand.

About car renting proposed by the hotel, be careful when you sign the contract. Think about all risk insurance or ask to see the car before.
We didn't have the choice of the car. We were given a black car and unfortunately, everything was doing an impact on the car paint. The guy charged us more than 100€ for a small impact on the door ...

About Ibiza in general, beaches are generally very nice and the sea is really full of amazing fishes (we've seen a little skate, an octopus, etc...)
Just be careful, crowded beaches are often dirty and look like big ashtrays. Moreover, tourists, on this kind of beaches, are noisy.
However, isolated beaches are simply paradise.

“Brilliant Holiday - Loved Every Minute”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

This hotel has so many mixed reviews but PLEASE take the negative ones with a pinch of salt - I've been to this hotel 5 times and still can't understand the negative reviews, there have been people saying that there's no sunbeds unless you get up at the crack of dawn which is just not the case, granted you can't sit teetering on the edge of the pool if you come down at mid day, but there's always space. Another complaint I've seen has been about the food - and that really is ridiculous, there's no end of choice with 5 resturants to choose from and theme nights in the main resturant, and as for the complaint that there's chips everynight - they just can't win! If there wasn't a chips option each night people wouldbe complaining that there was nothing for the kids!
The bottom line is: This is a great hotel if you're looking for a lively resort that's 30 seconds away from quiet beaches. If you're up for a laugh and don't think of yourself as above everyone else you'll love it, but if you try and sit in the middle of activities and then try to complain that there's too many people around you and too many people having noisy fun - then just go somewhere else!
