“surprise”

Over the years we visited this hotel 5 times. On our last trip the hotel was radically renovated. Much to the better. Same for the restaurants although service at he pool bar was rather slow. Service overall is very friendly and always helpful. Indian government has made entry to the country very difficult. One has to fill in literally a stack of documents to get your visa. So maybe we will never return for that reason. Otherwise we would return every year to this fine hotel.

“Very, very nice hotel”

The reception is absolutely outstanding. We were upgraded to a suite overlooking the lagoon, which was gratefully received, and the room well appointed.

My only comment would be that these lagoon suites were 2 rooms made into one suite, which does dilute the suite experience somewhat.

Great pools, superb food, awesome service (if not a little servile sometimes) and an outstanding beach area with beds under swaying palms and little flags to fly when you want to have drinks brought to you - love that!

I would definitely recommend this hotel. Be aware that the property is quite isolated.

“Average but overpriced”

Nice beach nearby, but the hotel looks tired and in need of work. Leela has a mixed batch in its group. Amazing 5* properties in Delhi and Gurgaon, a 3* tip in Mumbai, and the Goa property is 4* at best.
Staff are nice, but after waiting 25 minutes for cooked eggs i gave up on breakfast so can't rate the food. I can tell you the orange juice is fresh.
The gym opens too late, but the staff opened it after a mild nudge and asked what time i wanted it opened tomorrow so i will pass them on that. The treadmills are antique and run slower than they indicate. But adequate.
Adequate sums up the hotel until you pay the bill to leave, and then it becomes poor value.
There arent any great hotels in Goa. The Leela is another one of those. Someone in HQ needs to start thinking about a second tier brand for the properties in the group that dont make the grade.

“Serviced like a king”

I visited Goa with my friends for our spring break 2 years ago and we went on expidia to find a good vacation package but we didn't find the write one ,so I called up The Lela Hotel and they offered a deal I couldn't refuse .It was a 6 nights stay with airport pick-up and 3 meals a day .

So upon our arrival the car was waiting to take us to the hotel and once we reached the hotel they received us with flowers and coconut drinks . We entered the amazing reception area where we sat on a day bed while our checkin papers were processed after that they took us to our room by a golf car ,and it was stunning it was a one bedroom room with a seating area and 2 full bathrooms . while everything in the hotel was amazing the service I think is the thing worth mentioning our room was cleaned twice a day , new bottles of water were offered as a complementary every-time the room was cleaned . the golf cars were available around the clock to take you to any part of the resort the entire staff spoke really good english and with a smile on their faces all the time . the food was really good and the dining area was really relaxing . I advice anyone who thinks of going to Goa to call the hotel to get good offers that can't be found on any website .

“Simply the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012 via mobile

With over 70 acres of grounds, and the finest rooms, good food in all the various restaurants, and great service. The manager helped us to change rooms, to one that was nearer to the main hotel even though there are golf carts to take you all round the grounds.
