“my dream wedding”

Dear Claudia and Richard,
Thank you so so much for making our dream wedding come true.
Our wedding was so amazing, we as a couple together with our guests really enjoyed our stay there. We did a survey of like six Hotels in South coast and your hotel bit the rest in terms of pricing, food, organization, your friendly staff and mostly the management hospitality.
I would recommend anyone who wants to have a wedding or just a relaxing time.....Sands at Nomads is the best place to be.
Thank you so much for making our day and If anyone who reads this and would like to have a dream wedding do not hesitate to go to Sands at Nomads.

Room Tip: Get the room with the jacuzzi to be exact room number 23:-)

“Amazing Amazing Restaurant”

This place is fantastic. I truly loved the open concept restaurant right on the beach!! Large, spacious, and still covered enough to give you a cozy feeling whilst being right there next to the white sand and warm ocean - I loved it. Thank you so much for putting us up in the cottages - they were remarkable and I loved the large glass windows which made the rooms light and spacious and yet very comfortable and private. Thank you so much. Ameet Aggarwal ND, Naturopathic Doctor & Health Retreats, Meditation and Yoga in Kenya and Zanzibar - retreats.fimafrica.org. www.facebook.com/healthretreatsafrica.

Room Tip: Definitely try the cottages on the beach front gardens!!

“nice and comfortable refuge with TOP restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2011

I spent 2 weeks here, but not for vacation but for the installation of a Solar system in a nearby school in Ukunda. So I spent almost only the evenings in the hotel, and the quality of the bed, bathroom, breakfast and dinner, plus the WiFi connection, was more important than anything else.
And all those points were met to my fullest satisfaction!!
The room in the second floor of the old main building was certainly nothing fancy, but spacious and well enough equipped with everything I needed in those 2 weeks.
The bed was comfortable, clean, with mosquito net, and apparently without any bugs inside that had left many bites on me and my wife in another hotel along Diani beach before.
The pool is not very big, but big enough to swim a bit, and kept sufficiently clean. And most important for me - it was still open after sunset (unlike pools in some other hotels along Diani beach), when I came home from our installation works and wanted to cool down a bit from the hot day.
I didn't go to the beach, and so was never molested by any beach boy during the entire 2 weeks - there was never any of them inside the hotel grounds.
The free WiFi, important for my business mail, worked reliably and fast in the room as well as around the pool.
The very best however I found the restaurant:
not only did the breakfast buffet offer everything and in big enough quantities to bring you through a hard day even without lunch
but the highlight was the dinner buffet, which had a different country/regional theme every night, and offered not just a vast variety of dishes, but also the highest quality. In fact I had some of the best country specific specialties there I have eaten in a long time!
And the service in the restaurant was impeccable during all times (which I also experienced otherwise before).
All in all a very nice and comfortable refuge after a hard days work in the sun.
The only reason I don't give 5 stars is the relatively high price, at or even above European level, even though I had one of the cheapest rooms. But that is a phenomenon for all of Diani :-(

Room Tip: be ready to pay more than Standard ;-)

“HEAVEN ON EARTH”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2011

Dear Friends
We spent Christmas 2010 and New Year's Eve 2011 at the Nomad Resort in Diani Beach, deep south of Kenya.
I like to call this spot "Heaven on earth" just because you really get in touch with your soul when you feel that silence all around you, that ocean breeze blowing gently on this huge, wonderful, endless stretch of pristine coral sand and the smell of wilderness in a warm and friendly atmosphere granted by the whole staff at the Nomad.
We rent a Beach Cottage and you find yourself right in front of the indian ocean while surrounded by a charming garden spiced with Bao Bao trees.
The food is delicious, the chefs are always ready to satisfy any kind of palate, the service is excellent and the main executives pay great attention to everything that makes you feel at home faraway from home!
We strongly suggest you this resort to all the people who love to enjoy peace and quiet, respect for privacy and professional style in an informal way where all the guests become a great family.
Just try it to believe!!

“Gorgeous Resort, delicious food, friendly staff...”

My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to escape from grey November-weather in Germany and decided to go to Kenya. it was our first time there and we were amazed by the white, empty beach (in Diani), turquoise water and sun every day. the resort is just beautiful! we had a suite (we upgraded from our hotelroom) which was huge with big bathroom, private jacuzzi, neatly decorated, terrasse etc. every bungalow has it's own sunbeds, umbrella and towels- so no fight for sunbeds....the service is great, staff very friendly; the food is just delicious- we had sushi and seafood (lobster, prawns etc) every evening. have never had such good food on a 'tourist' vacation. the Austrian manager Richard is easy-going, very friendly and creates a great atmosphere which you can literally feel. you also get massage, mani/pedicure etc. for fair price. all in all an amazing vacation - pity we only had one week....
