“three days vacation.the hotel beautiful.”

we had a 3 day escape to the island first days of june. the hotel is nice and in front of the sea. the rooms clean and spacious, had all basics. the island is quiet and i prefered Potos from other locations. The hotel has also a pool so if you want to relax without much noise you lay all day and enjoy refreshments. Generally for 3 days is a right choice.

“Only good things to say”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2009

My wife and I stayed at the Atrium Hotel in Potos for two weeks in June 2009. The hotel looks just as good as their website promised. The room was spacious and modern, quite a surprise for such a small greek town like Potos. Plenty of closets and drawers so we could store all our stuff for a two-week holiday. The balcony was confortable and had a nice view, though unfortunately in the second week we had a noisy family as next-door neighbors and they spent nights talking loud in the balcony which ended up being quite annoying... The bathroom was also spacious and featured a good shower. Cable-tv with many channels, most of them Greek except for some German exceptions (most of the guests are from Germany).

Breakfast buffet and dinner were included in the package. Food was nice and offered plenty of choices, including many traditional Greek dishes for us to try. I am allergic to tomatoes and after speaking to the hotel management they started to offer at least one hot dish without tomatoes every night during my stay (believe it or not, in our first night literally every single hot dish contained tomatoes). The restaurant staff was very friendly, especially Cristina, the head waitress, who always made sure to cater to everyone's needs with a smile on her face.

There is a decent speed internet connection in the room (cable) and also wifi (though our room was not located in the best spot in the hotel, so the connection was not very stable). Hwever the wifi worked perfectly in the garden, pool area and even on the beach.

The pool is pleasant, though not very big. The really nice details is that the hotel is right on Potos Beach, so we could easily walk from the pool to the beach for a swim (or for lunch in a Taverna) and then come back to relax.

The hotel is located near the far end of Potos Beach, so it doesn't get crowded and you can rest or swim in peace. It can be very relaxing both during the day and night, and you are only a short walk (10min by the beach) to the center of Potos where all the tavernas, bars, restaurants and shops are located.

There is much more to write about Atrium Hotel, but to make a long story short I'd like to say my wife and I had a very pleasant holiday where we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was very good (the best we've had in years travelling to Greece) and the staff was just very friendly, especially the following people: Giorgio (the manager), Vassili (night portier) and Catarina (head waitress). It certainly made our trip even more special, offering a lot of comfort in such a small place like Potos.

Highly recommended! As a matter of fact, we are even considering returning in September to catch the end of the season, which we were told is just as good as early June.

“Boutique hotel at package deal prices”

The Atrium exceeded expectations. We booked it via thomson as a package summer holiday with our 7 year old son. The family room was fantastic our son had his own room, We shared a fantastic bathroom. The balcony was to die for. with great views over the sea and a perfect view of the sun set.

The hotel has spared no expense with any of the fixtures and fittings and this extends to the out doors with a very well maintained pool area (wooden sun loungers), hammocks and a very boutique style bar area.

The hotel is small and as such for some it may be quiet but we all enjoyed it.. within 100 metres there are a couple of great bars which had high standards of food for lunch and if we had choosen to great evening menus too.

The hotel buffet again was of a good standard and the surroundings of the dining room again had spared no expense.

The beach is literally on the door step and extends along to Potos. The beach beds were rarely 50% taken which provided a level of privacy and at 6 euros a day for two beds and a parasol good value.

Our 7 year old son loved snorkeling along by the rocks at the far end of the beach and the sea was crystal clear so ideal snorkelling conidtions.

I could not fault any of the holiday and would stuggle to believe anyone that could...

“We loved it”

We have just returned from this lovely hotel and have had a wonderful holiday. We found the hotel very clean and friendly. The bedrooms were modern with enough room to move around in easily. We even had an upstairs 2nd bedroom room. Excellent Air conditioning..
The beach at the front of the hotel was clean and the water clear. People who were staying at the Alexandra came down to our beach because it was better. The short walk to the local town was just right whether you travelled via the beach or the main road. It also meant you did not have loud music to contend with once you returned to the hotel in the evening. The Sun beds on the beach belong to the hotel but you do have to pay 6 Euros for them which I think is a shame. Would have like this to be included in our stay although you could always get around the pool easily.
The restaurant was good and we enjoyed most of our meals in the hotel. With only 50 rooms we found this hotel was just the right size for us and yes we would certainly go back.

“Quiet and relaxing place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2008

We spent a week in this rather small but very nice hotel and had a great time there. The hotel is located outside the village of Potos in the south of Thassos directly on the long and shallow sandy beach with clear water. Between the house and the beach is a wonderful garden with a pool and sunbeds, where you can have your lunch or enjoy drinks in the evening.
The only disturbing thing is the Greek nuisance to drive straight to a beach and park your vehicle on the sand (between the garden and the sunbeds and parasols), which produces a lot of dust as people permanently come and go.

The hotel offers an opulent buffet breakfast and dinner with a few typical Greek dishes, which you can have on the terrace with seaview. The only negative aspect was the rather restricted dinner time.

The rooms are not too spacious but very clean (as is the whole premise) with a fridge, TV and balcony (partial sea view).

Staff very friendly and helpful.

As there is no entertainment in the hotel itself and only a few water sports on the beach it is quiet during the day and extremely quiet in the evening, something we enjoyed a lot. A few metres away you find two more restaurants and bars. There are numerous restaurants and bars, supermarkets and shops in the bustling village of Potos. It takes you about 15 minutes to get there either along the beach (not recommendable when dark) or on the road without pavement and poorly lit, which can be a bit dangerous at night as the roads are quite busy till long after midnight.

All in all, we can warmly recommend the hotel as long as you do not expect action, entertainment or night life.

  • Liked — location on the beach, quietness
  • Disliked — way to get to village
