Great hotel, just away from the main street of thassos.

Rooms were clean and more than sufficient, a little loud at night but not excessively, and most people are in bed by midnight as this is no faliraki!! Lovely pool, fantastic service, we were made to feel so welcome.

The food was infinitely better than we expected. We got a great half board deal with Thomson, so When we came away we thought that we would have a few dinners out and a few in the hotel, but the quality, variety and authenticity of the food was so good we just stayed in and ate there, even at lunch!

Thassos is a great place for a romantic getaway. Hire a car and discover Beautiful hidden coves, where you feel like you are the only people on the planet.

Would recommend to anyone (as long as you don't want to go clubbing)

An excellent hotel; clean, comfortable and friendly, we would recommend the Astir Notos to anyone who wants a peaceful, well catered for holiday. Well done to all of the staff, especially the lovely girl (Sophia) who ran the pool bar.... A lovely holiday!

I think my comments will only echo what has already been written about this lovely hotel. The staff are excellent and do make sure that you enjoy your stay at the hotel. The only slight negative for us was that the mattress was rather hard and took a bit of getting used to. We booked the BBQ cruise and 4 x 4 trips which we enjoyed especially as from the top of the mountain you get a 360 degree view of the island. Potas beach is small and the sunbeds are free as long as you purchase food or drinks from the beach bars. The village has a number of shops, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. The weather was better than we expected for early September and so we spent most of the time on the beach (which could be cleaner!) We did take the bus to Thassos and as listed on another review the bus back leaves from the bus station which is opposite where the ferries dock not where you are dropped off. There is quite a gap between buses as well. We had a lovely relaxing holiday however if you like day time and evening entertainment then this place is not for you. (We loved the fact that you could lie by the pool with a cold drink and a book without being made to feel guilty that you are not joining in with the aqua-aerobics!)

We have just returned from the Astir Notos, after 10 days and feel like we've had a month long holiday as we feel so relaxed.
The hotel is beautiful, the staff are very warm and friendly - doing as much as possible to accomodate your needs. After a very long transfer, we were collected by the owners father from the drop off point and driven to the hotel - which we had seen didn't happen at every hotel! The hospitality is great, with all staff offering advice about the Island/trips etc along with questions about the hotel. Sophia and Anna in particular seem to look after everyone throughout the day. They always had a smile and time for everyone.
The pool is quite cold, but you do get used to it + it actually offers a very refreshing break from the sun.
The hot food was not always warm enough for me, but I did enjoy all the lovely salads on offer. The buffet was plentiful and there was also a nice choice - The Greek and Italian Kitchen nights were particular favourites of mine!
As a vegetarian, I enjoyed the selection of food available. However, the choices aren't always listed and I did pick a couple of things with meat hidden in them, so I would always ask if you aren't sure.
Few things to note, beach towels are available for hire (or purchase some from the shops for about 8 Euros), the sauna is also for hire. There are no kettles in the rooms - but coffee and tea are available during breakfast. The gym and entertainment room need a little tlc, but to be honest, if the weather is good, you won't even look down there for them!
Mythos and Amstel beers are local, cheapest and very nice to boot!
