We have been 2 nights at Pequena Tiradentes, and the public areas of the Pousada are amazing. The heated pool with sauna are incredible. The decor is just fantastic (matching the 18th century city of Tiradentes), and it is very interesting that you can indeed buy the furniture items you like.
The standard room was very good, although the decor is not at the same level as the public areas. We stayed in a standard room, and the bathroom is on the small side, with basic fixtures and finishings, and there is certainly a privacy issue, since all the windows face the inner court of the hotel. The rest of our family stayed in a mezzanino room, and it was much better than ours. There is also the "gold" section, which is on a different level, but we didn't see it.
The service is very attentive, but slow. This is the normal rythm of Tiradentes, and the best thing is to just get used to it and enjoy.
