We spend our holidays in Trypiti Bungalows in July/August 2009 and we were highly disappointed. Our travel agency rated this hotel as ***+ and unfortunately, it was not even near to that.
There were few big things a lot of small things, that was making our stay there unpleasant.
First of all, it was dirty rooms. My friends had terribly smelling room right after check in. Same smell appeared in my room after cleaning staff visit, so I assume, they were cleaning with some dirty water, but I happened only once, since I complained right after. My friends asked for another room, but I was bad too and mine had mildew in bathroom and no TV (check attached pictures) so we asked for new rooms again. Receptionist told us, that there is no free room with balcony. Since rooms were not what we expected to be as ***+ , we complaint to travel agency and told them, that we are going to move to other hotel (Blue Dream Palace had free rooms) and claim a refund after holidays.
So they moved us to new rooms after all, slightly better, with balcony (the receptionist was clearly lying to us!). We accepted it, because we were certain, that we are not going to get refund from travel agency, since they moved us twice. New rooms were at highest part of bungalows, 10 minutes walk to beach with 126 stairs :) … so at least we kept exercising.
Food was not good. There was like 6 meals at lunch and dinner, often cold. There was poor choice of sweets, almost always only some kind of cream and fruits.
All inclusive was a huge disappointment:
No coffee available in restaurant at lunch and dinner, only at pool bar and only till 5 p.m.!
Ice-cream was just for kids to 12 years and not all day, I believe till 5 p.m. – that was stated in travel agency brochure, but other things was not.
No lunch boxes to trips, just one at departure day (5 a.m. for us).
No bottled water for take away to beach. Beach is like 3-5 minutes walk from pool bar and you get only glass of water to beach.
Luckily, there is everything cheaper at beach bar, if you really need to buy anything, but it did not felt like all inclusive at all.
Restaurant for 160 guests is in main building with reception and it shares 1 toilet for each sex with bar at pool. So you can imagine, how it looks like in rush hours.
Good part was service in restaurant and bar. Most of staff was Czech students from hotel school, so it was easy for us to communicate and they were really trying to make it better there. Animation program was good too and animators were nice and friendly.
Beach is nice and clean, nice for swimming and interesting for snorkeling. Worth visiting if you are on island IMO.
Overall, hotel is in bad state and it need maintenance and repairs. For example handrailing at balcony was about to break up (detail at picture) and it could be dangerous if we had children there. Compared to *** Cavo Maris at Cyprus or few **** hotels in Czech republic and Poland, that I visited this year, Trypiti Bungalows are like low ** and I do not recommend to anyone to go there. If you really like to visit Trypiti beach, go to Blue Palace Dream hotel, that is located directly at beach. It is nice, new and clean place from what we saw, when we went there for a drink. It is a bit more pricey, but if we had to choose again, we would go there.
