“A little piece of heaven”

We were fortunate to be part of a very small wedding that took place at the Hotelito on March 3rd which made it how we came to experience this unique and tranquil setting. Many people have asked us to describe our experience and the only thing we can come up with is that it as luxurious as it is simple. Words will never describe the feel of this resort and one must truly experience this in order to understand. The staff there was absolutely phenomenal and we truly felt at home from the time we stepped onto the reception area where we were welcomed but a number of staff with cool towels and cold beverage at hand. After that moment we were spoiled beyond belief and we treasured every minute of being away from the major resorts in town. All of the meals were outstanding and most enjoyed by all, now this is not the place if you don’t like seafood since our first luncheon consisted of a beautiful appetizer plate and then for the main meal grilled lobster (one per person) and of course home made dessert. We were very sad to say goodbye as it felt that we were leaving our new family (the staff) behind knowing that one day we’ll see them again. In addition to the wedding activities we were able to release about 100 baby sea turtles which of course was an experience in itself along with seeing massive grey whales right off the coast. My husband and I have vacationed in Mexico many times but this experience surpassed everything and when it comes to a Romantic setting. Since there is no power on the entire resort, somewhat of a challenge when attending the wedding the ambiance of candlelight everywhere truly makes up for all of this. All in all this was likely the most incredible experience we have had and if you like out of the way and different types of resorts and are not in to all of the amenities this is the place for you, the world and stress as most of us know it truly slips away once you enter the driveway of the Hotelito.

“Peaceful, restful, and very special”

We spent three peaceful days at Hotelito and really wound down. Upon our arrival, you just had the sense that this was a special place. It has a rustic beauty where one can slow down and reconnect with sun, sand and sea.

My wife and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary and we came with few expectations. What a nice place to be away from it all. On our first night we were invited by Daniel, the resident biologist, to help return baby turtles to the ocean. Wow, what an experience.

I guess the most important part of our stay here was meeting the people. Carlos, Malo, Raphael, Frederico, Kita, Kilo, Edwardo, Daniel, and other new friends. Thank you!

Richard & Rebecca

“Great Relaxation Heaven”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2007

Hotelito is the perfect place to go and get away from it all. It is a lush remote hotel 2 hours south of Puerto Vallarta. It is set in the middle of an estuary and a virgin beach. You can go horse back riding, sailing or simply sit on the beach and do nothing for hours.

We spent nights in this gorgeous retreat, but I think that more than 4 days would have been torture. You have to spend all your time at the hotel because there is nowhere to go.

The bungalows are very nice and there is no electricity. In the evenings the hotel is illuminated with thousands of candles. Very romantic and interesting.

“lovely”

we loved our stay at hotelito , a beautiful , quiet , relaxing getaway . our room was large, private (on the estuary), nicely furnished, with a lovely out door shower and an amazing view. the nature here is great and there's something special about the light . the mainland is green and lush, but out at the beach its arrid and desert like . having a row boat is fun and a nice way to explore the estuary and watch the birds .
its a shame the sea is so rough, but the beach is beautifully wild and there is a pool for swimming . the hotel was quiet so the beach was almost empty everyday.
evenings are special at hotelito , hundreds of candles make it very romantic. food was excellent and one evening children from the local village did traditional dance for the guests ; a memory we shall always treasure . but the best night was when we had dinner out on a candle covered pontoon in the middle of the estuary . our waiter rowed a boat out with each coarse . the stars went from horizon to horizon and were so 3D it was magical. we recommended the hotel to some friends ,they loved it so much they're planning a wedding there next year . lucky us , now we have to go back !
