Booked at the Richmond because the Nonthaburi Palace was a dump. The Richmond presents as more upscale, ala hotels in Bangkok but that's where the similarity ends. It was the perfect location for us as we were attending a week of funeral services. But, the staff hasn't a clue. This is a high priced hotel for the area, at a rate that would be above average in good areas of Bangkok. But the staff lacks working knowledge of English so communication is a challenge. I told the restaurant manager there was a bug under our table and she asked if i needed my glasses. Our airconditioner leaked in our room and we were told to change rooms. Our bathroom lgiht went out and it took a day to get fixed. And to top it off internet access is $20usd per day. Even the Four Seasons in BKK doesnt charge that.. After 5 days of struggle we found a service apartment for half the price. you should too.
