“You will never forget this awsome beautiful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

This is pure Namibia, awsome beautiful, the kindest hosts, delcious food, and a comfortable room, with a breathtaking view, We stayed there for three nights and went on exciting daytrips each day. There is so much to see in this area of wonderful Namibia. We are looking forward to come back longing for the stunning sunsets, peace and the warm hospitality!

“A queit and pleasant stay”

The guest farm is one of the oldest in Namibia and the current owners who are Namibian nationals of German decent have been running the place for the past 5 or 6 years (I think). It seems to cater mainly for German tourists (but don't let that put you off - everyone speaks English). We found the Hälbich family very gracious and keen to get to know their guests - they join you for afternoon tea and dinner and keep the conversation flowing; in our case a mixture of German and English. Dinner was excellent and good value and was on the patio overlooking the farm's waterhole. In the daytime the views of the Vingerklip area are spectacular and at the base of the plateau the water hole is illuminated at night with two hides for close up wildlife viewing. We walked down to the waterhole in the morning and afternoon and saw a variety of animals such as zebra and giraffe using the water hole. OK, its not Etosha but you are on your own when viewing! The rooms are individual chalets and are fairly basic but clean. If I have one gripe about this place (and a number of similarly priced places in Namibia), then if I were paying the same price US$180) to stay at a Marriott or Sheraton then I would expect individual soap and shampoo in the bathroom, not large containers of cheap soap used by everyone.

“Basic but comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2009

This guest farm, operated by Namibian nationals of German decent, is a favorite of German tourists and is situated on a plateau with panoramic views of the Vingerklip region. At the base of the plateau is a water hole that is illuminated at night and features two hides for close up wildlife viewing. A large variety of wild animals use the water hole throughout the day and night so they can be easily viewed from the veranda. The rooms are basic but clean and well maintained and the food is acceptable. Bambatsi is a great stopping place for a few days of relaxation when driving from Etosha to the Skeleton Coast.
