After a very hetic year my husband and I just needed a place that could offer us respite from the city, well we found it here in Podere Santa Croce. The location is beautiful, in the middle of the countryside with Montemerano perched on a hill just above it.The agriturismo is a handsome property,with rooms in the main building and some by the swimming pool. The rooms are quite spacious and clean.Breakfast was served in the restaurant and dinner was taken outside near the pool, where we could appreciate the gorgeous sunsets for time of year.
The menu changes every day giving you a chance to taste Maremma cooking.
Francesco the owner, was always on hand to help in any way and his staff were a great bunch too.
We will probably return here whenever we need to chill out from life again, as here reigns pure peace.

Set in the most tranquil part of Tuscany, this Podere is an absolute delight. The whole building is spotlessly clean and whilst it is obviously relatively new, it retains a sense of the authentic Italy. The bedrooms are of a good size and comfortably furnished. Our room was on the ground floor which opened out onto the biggest patio area we've ever seen.
Surpringly there is a wonderful outdoor pool and patio area with some magnificent views to the village of Montemerano.
The owners were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Despite being very quiet during our stay, there was always someone available to fetch drinks or snacks.
The Podere is quite remote (which we liked) and so we dined there each evening. The food was simple and authentic and we loved it .
Perhaps the best thing I can say is that if we ever return to Tuscany I will head straight for the Podere Santa Croce.
