“Nothing Too Much Trouble”

Clean and tidy. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful owners.
We were booked for just two days but they had no problem extending our stay at short notice. Also we were allowed to use the room on the last day well into the afternoon as we were getting the late ferry. They provided us with extra towels for the dogs when the rain wouldn't stop!
The room was in a separate annex so we could come and go as we pleased at all hours without disturbing anyone.
Fresh milk and nibbles provided in the room every day.
They also had a nice cat (who was getting on a bit but we hope she is still there).

“Love it, want to come back.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2011 via mobile

Second visit and is just as friendly, clean and good value as the first time. Nothing is too much trouble for Bill & Sarah. Love the eggs too - taking dome home with us. We will certainly be back for more.

“friendly hosts”

Our ferry from Skye dictated an overnight stop on Benbecula, and the Lionacleit Guest house was an excellent choice. We arrived early evening windswept and tired, after a frustrating 3 hour cycle against wind and intermittent rain. We had a warm and friendly welcome from our hosts, and nothing was too much trouble at all. It was to our detriment that we did not take up Bill's offer of transport to the most distant Inn for our meal, but thanks for the offer! Breakfast was a real treat, and the eggs were seriously yellow! Take a bow breakfast cook! Our stay was warm, comfortable and informative. There is not a single thing I did not like about this Guest house.

“Room like a mini suite, welcoming owners”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2010

I booked for 4 nights as part of my solo travel to the Uists and Benbecula before moving onto Eriskay and Barra. Very helpful owners who loaned me a book on walks in the area created by their son. I spent my birthday July 24th in my room as the weather was foul. I completed knitting two sweaters usually for chidlren in Nepal but donated them to Sarah for her church efforts. I could have asked for anything during the day but as I travelled with a car it was possible to make a snack and plenty of drinks. Good to have the wide flat screen TV for this part of the trip ( 30 day odessey). Highly recommend the self catering units as well as the courtyard rooms.

“Lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2010

We stayed here while attending a wedding on Benbecula, and our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The room was in a separate annexe across an enclosed courtyard from the main house, and was very comfortable and convenient. As well as the usual facilities of en-suite shower and bathroom, TV etc, there were 2 very comfortable chairs in which to relax, and generous tea and coffee provisions. The breakfasts were delicious with home-produced eggs - we derived much pleasure from watching the hens - and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. We had booked for 4 nights, but thanks to Scotrail, I missed the Thursday ferry, and arrived the following day, so the room only had my husband for the first night; however the owners very kindly only charged us for single occupancy, which they weren't obliged to do. All in all, it was excellent value for money and a B&B to thoroughly recommend.
