This motel misrepresents itself somewhat on their website. The photos show renovations that have only been done in their few riverfront rooms. Don't go thinking it's all reno'd. It's good value, but the non-riverfront rooms need a complete overhaul.

After a very disappointing experience in what had been rated a 4 1/2 * B * B (and appropriatly priced) in New Ross, my husband and were reccommended the Lighthouse Motel on the La Have River by the Bridgewater Tourist Information as a place to unwind and recover from a sleepless night . The manager of the motel recogised immediatly what we needed and booked us in to a truly perfect room facing the sea with only the rocks and the waves to sooth our distress - just what the Doctor ordered. I cannot thank her enough for making our stay so comfortable and welcoming - particularly the chocolates left in our room when we came back from dinner in the town after we booked for a second night (just could not think of anywhere else we wanted to be). It as not rated 4 1/2 stars in the tourist guide - but for us - it rated 10!! Many, many thanks.

Got to admit a little apprehensive before arrival.... this motel has a great web site, showing great views and impressive rooms on the waterfront, $95 a night was not sure what to expect.
Nothing toworry about, you must have a waterfront room!! Sensational views over the River Lehave, the water is 2 feet from the bedroom!! Don't bother with the other rooms, about 100 yds away with no view, worth the extra $10. Lots of grass lawn for dogs to run on, yes the motel is pet friendly and may try to charge an additional $20 cleaning fee.... why? What extra cleaning is necessary or even carried out?
Room was clean and tidy, bathroom well fitted, in fact suggest recent refurb.
Great location for touring Lunenburg, or i preferred Mahone Bay and if you do have some 4 legged friends with you go to Green Bay we walked for over an hour and never met anyone else.... magical.

Great location for touring the Shouth Shore of Nova Scotia. We especially loved staying right on the waterfront. Room had small kitchen and we could enjoy breakfast by the water watching the wildlife, including loons, and a bald eagle. Room was recently renovated and staff was very friendly. Town of Bridgewater with all conviences is only 5 km.
