My boyfriend and I have just come back from a week at Island Beach resort in Kavos. When we were dropped off by the coach we had to walk down the road to the hotel and we weren't sure what to expect... However we were met by the lovely receptionist and shown to our room (16). The room was spacious and clean with a good little hop and fridge however it didn't have a balcony. We also had to pay 40 Euro for the aircon which was slightly annoying.
The hotel is in a great location (about mid way along the strip). It was quiet quiet at the start of the week but as things picked it people were very loud some nights and you could hear the music from the strip. It is also on the beach and the hotel provides sun beds on their section.
It is very modern and the pool is lovely. The pool bar is a bit over priced compaired to the rest of the resort however they did play great music. I think a lot of the locals hang out there too.
We didn't get invloved but they did do a BBQ and did beach games all day however we went to Aqualand that day.
Kavos itself is a bit rough. Very cheap drinks and you will be tired of being approached to go into bars by the end of the week. However do explore as towards the end of the week we found a great bar called stoned... they have the best cocktails. Also we ate at the drunked squid which was the best resturant by far. It was a little expensive but great quality and a lovely atmospher.
As for the beach, its not the great and quiet dirty however everyone is out so late the beach is very quiet becuase everyone is asleep!
Overall a great holiday but more for 17-21 year olds in big groups for a bit of sun and dancing!
