Just returned from 1 week. Stayed in room 305 which is two rooms from the pool bar on the ground floor - that put me off initially until we saw the room and location. There is enough privacy to not be put off with this location at all. No balcony, just a terrace overlooking the baby pool and larger pool. We travelled with an 18month old and were concerned about the size of the apt because we have always booked a 2 bed apt previously to fit in the cot/bags/paraphernalia but the apt was very large and perfectly adequate. Yes, self catering facilites are basic (2 electric rings, 2 pans, kettle, loads of cutlery/plates etc) but we managed to cook breakfasts and lunches without problems.
Owners Spiros and Pipitsas very child friendly, they made a fuss of our little boy and didnt mind his regular wanderings holding our hand through the pool bar - we didnt buy food every day and they still didnt mind, shaking his hand, shouting "hiya" and "yasou" and introducing him to Pipitsa's elderly mother!
The cleaner also made a fuss of him and was very friendly and did a good job. For once we got more than 2 tiny loo rolls in our s/c apt!
Everywhere was very clean, well kept, food at pool bar was good and competitively priced. Daytime staff very friendly, and free wifi connection available.
All in all, even including the very steep hill (described by one of the older residents as cardiac hill) we would go back tomorrow.
Despite another review saying the owners are not child lovers I think they are but they want children to behave to prevent any other residents becoming upset - personally I dont mind this type of attitude at all.
There are lots of lovely restaurants in Kassiopi, we have been 4 times now. Porto (at the port) is good with a limited menu, Strofolia on the main street is a winner - food is fab with a quieter vibe, Castello also very nice. Room 306 which was round the corner from us has a bigger area outside the front could be better for those travelling with children to give some area to play on the terrace outside the room.
Overall, a definate winner for me.
Oh, also, a few days were a bit cool and we bought food at lunch time from the pool bar and the staff brought it round to our room so that we could eat inside with our little boy. They could not have been more thoughful.
(Air con costs quite expensive - 45 euro for a one bed apt for the week - excellent quality air con though, one unit in each room which can be independantly set and were almost silent)
Room Tip: Room 304/5 and 6 all face the sea but are ground floor next to the pool bar (if that puts you off) a...
