We stayed at the Kapiti Court Motel for two nights. Now into our fourth week of touring New Zealand this is the first motel to require payment on arrival.

We had a studio which was 'well used'. There was evidence of previous staining on the quilt. We had plenty of hot water but the wash basin was just above knee height! (I am over 6ft).

There is a notice advising that washing of crockery is not part of the 'service' and guests should wash and put away pots before checking out - When I go into a unit I expect the pots and utensils to be in a clean and hygeinic condition and for the management to ensure that it is in such condition - we have never encountered this situation before.

Sound insulation between units is not very good.

Of the motels and hotels we have stayed in in NZ this is the most inferior. We would not book Kapiti Court again unless there was nowhere else to stay.

Hot water system not able to heat the “spa” as advertised. Décor dated, mould residue around taps in bathroom. Guests expected to clean and put away all their dishes before checking out!!

Staff were not helpful and offered no form of compensation for the cold showers and cold spa (bath). Only enough hot water for one shower – so if you do decide to stay here, better make it a quick one and dont plan to have a bath.

I recommend you find somewhere else to stay.
