“Superb Boutique Hotel in the heart if Scicli”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

We got lost for over 30 mins in our hire car finding this charming hotel. The owners let us park our car right outside, which was most useful as parking and driving in Scicli is tight!

The hotel is finished to a high standard and our room (worth paying extra for the suite) had a stunning fresco on the ceiling. Breakfast was divine, the coffee and pastries alone were worth waking up for. The area was very quiet', sleeping was eery as you could hear a pin drop. The views from the balconies were lovely and provided a great view of the viaduct.

The wi-fi signal was a little weak, but I'm sure the wired connection would have been fine. Drinks at the hotel bar were reasonably priced and the service was impecable. The owners recommended two restaurants with Al Groto (the caves) was a real treat.

Overall this hotel punches well above its weight and provides a perfect sanctuary in a quiet town for a few nights. It is very reasonable priced too.

Room Tip: Go for the suite, you will not be dissapointed

We enjoyed our stay here. One night was all we needed to see the town.

“lovely hotel”

Charming boutique style hotel lovingly restored. Very comfortable room with great shower and bed. Breakfast was fantastic with a range of local fruits and cheeses and speciality pastries. Staff very friendly with excellent recommendations for local restaurants (the hotel restaurant was closed at the time). The town itself is old and atmospheric. We took a walk up to the hilll above the town (follow lane to Sta Lucia church) with stunning views over the town and down the valley to the sea.

“Stunning”

This boutique hotel is even more beautiful than depicted online. A successful blend of old and new that is done with finesse. Our suite was completely contemporary yet had an incredible frescoed ceiling from the 1500s. Service was quiet, attentive, and accommodating. As we passed the receptionist on our way to breakfast, he quickly stood and ushered us through the arched doorway and into the breakfast room. It was lovely- tables set with crisp table linens, shining silverware and fresh flowers. A waiter magically appeared and offered us a choice of coffees. We selected cappuccino which arrived foaming with a chocolate smiley face on top. While we were able to order eggs cooked to our liking, the breakfast buffet was exceptional- fresh cherries, peaches, bananas, oranges; fresh squeezed juices; cereals; yogurt; pastries; cheeses; ham; and teeny-tiny cookies. A stay in this charming town must include accommodations at Hotel Novecento- we found it to be exceptional in every way.

“Best place we stayed in Sicily!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

We traveled all over Sicily in 11 days and the Novecento was by far our favorite lodging. I discovered it on i-escape and decided to try it since there was a room well-priced at 70 euro. When we arrived without a reservation, this room was available for two nights. Luigi was gracious, warm and friendly at the reception. The hotel was utterly lovely and renovated to a high standard with touches of the ancient. Our room facing the quiet courtyard was not huge but it was simply and stylishly appointed - especially the bathroom (the one drawback to this was the design of the shower/tub which promoted flooding of the floor). Towels were large, fluffy and soft and bed linen comfortable and fresh. Breakfast was outstanding with wonderful cheese selections, and the daytime staff were helpful with suggestions for sighteseeing and routes. We liked Scicli for its charming people and liveability - and the Novecento is the best place to stay!!
