“Beautiful view but a little far away & not so welcoming breakfast staff”

We stayed at the hotel for almost one week. The hotel is nice, quite clean with a tremendous view. There were not many guests at the hotel so it was prety calm. Before booking the hotel we read the reviews and hesitated a little as far as the location is concerned. Indeed the location is a little remote, it takes about 10 min to go to Chaweng beach by bike or by songtheaws (local tuk-tuk). We rented a bike so it worked fine for us. Personally I would not advise it to someone who likes to get out a lot and doesn't have a bike or a car (still it's just my humble opinion). However, songtheaws are frequent and the hotel has a shuttle to get you down to the road (the hotel is situated on a hill quite steep to walk). The biggest deception at this hotel was the breakfast staff... Not only they were not answering when we greeted them, they were always looking sulky (every single day during one week). Not a smile, not a hello, constantly giggling among themselves. It's a shame! However, the rest of the staff (reception, cleaning ladies) were nice.

“Dated and terrible service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Stayed there to celebrate new years. We are travelling for 4 months and are on a budget so this was a treat for us. We were so disappointed. 1st we were put ina room next to the laundry room so could not sleep through the noise. When we got moved to a new room there was no hot water. The rooms are dated and dirty, so is the pool with no pool bar as advertised (just an empty rusty fridge next to the pool). If you want to use the gym you need your room key to activate power do your partner can't stay in the hotel room. We did have a good evening meal but out lunch was poor. Nice views over chewang beach but 200-300 baht taxi to chewang or lamai. Would strongly advise peole to avoid this hotel the worst value for money hotel we have stayed in.

“The View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

Second stay for me at this hotel, been to Samui and area numerous times, have to say this is a top spot for a relaxing quiet holiday, the view is fantastic, the ladies at the reception are super nice/sweet as is the rest of the staff, rooms are clean and complete acoording to european standards, we stayed in a grand deluxe seaview room which was the works... hotel is perched on a hill so dont expect to go for a swim in the sea right out of bed, it is situated about halfway from both hellish Chaweng and laid back Lamai, my advice is rent a motorcycle, it is fun just be careful, so again if you need a nice quiet environment to spend your vacation at away from the hordes of tourists piled on the beach in chaweng while being real close, this is your piece of heaven !

one request to management is the water from the pools should be cleaned and chemically treated every morning or so,,other than that thanx again to all your staff for the very special treatment............Chok dee pi ma

I went on Samui last year, and it was a great and pleasant stay. The staff is polite and nice.
The view to Samui island is great! Me and my friend, we loved it!
The food is good, and not expensive (for dinner). The room view was perfect.
The hotel is very clean.Breakfast was soberb! So many things to taste, thai food, fruits, etc, etc.
I would like to come back in Thailand and Samui, and for sure, I will stay on Best Western Samui Bayview Resort!

“Excellent accommodation, terrible service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

We stayed here as a large group for a wedding. The rooms were good, clean and were as shown on the website. The views were absolutely amazing!!!! The pool was gorgeous......no pool side wervice was given though. A bit disappointing considering it was so beautiful you didn't want to leave.

I recommend the accommodation, but the service was definitely the worst I have ever experienced. They didn't have our booking to begin with and we got shoved in a room out the back even though we had booked ocean views. The staff would not do anything bar the basics and it definitely tainted the experience. If the service was better it would have been the perfect holiday.

The hotel is situated high on a hill so of course there is a steep driveway which caused a few issues with people and their mopeds, but its all part of he adventure and its away from everything, which we loved but if you want to be in the hub of it all don't stay here.

We loved the building and the rooms and the views, best I've ever stayed at. Koh Samui is absolutely stunning! So all they have to do is improve the standard of the service and it would easily be five stars. I just want to note, we are really laid back people with a relaxed attitude and it doesn't take much to please us so I just wanted to stress that they need to improve in this area so that it can be a better holiday for future holiday makers.

Room Tip: Definitely get an ocean view room. This is what the place is all about. We paid $99 for a double r...
