“A great place to relax”

Stayed here for 5 days after 10 days of touring around Thailand. If you are looking for nightclubs, swim up bars and flashy high rise buildings this is definitely not for you. However, if you want peace and relaxation in a beautiful tropical setting definitely give it a try, The rooms are large and the bathroom with it's 'waterfall' shower is exquisite. There are plenty of places to sit and relax with generous balconies to each unit. And all this is only about 5 mins from Chaweng by taxi. Definitely the best of both worlds - have been singing its praises since we got home!

“probably a slice of heaven”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 April 2010

Booked Coral Bay for a 2 week vacation of sun, sea, sand and fun and were not disappointed. Set in lush tropical gardens, lovely bungalows, sounds and smells. Beautifully decorated bungalows with huge bathrooms, plunge shower, airco, tv/dvd, ventilator on the (again huge) patio, deckchairs and (nice touch) umbrellas which we didn't need although I gather it can rain pretty hard. Lovely clean, cool spa, seafront loungers and beachbar. Here too, the staff are very friendly and helpful and always cheerful. Breakfast selection is limited but having said that we never once missed anything. the regular selection of delicious fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, pastries and a chef for your eggs and omelets.

Bit away from the busy chaweng road but more than enough taxis and jeepie-thingies to het you to town and back for next to nothing. across the road mini-marts, atms and an amazing robot factory! Would we go back? Yes! waking in the morning to the sounds of birds and animals and smells from the plants and trees, what more could you want?

“Lovely Resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2009

We stayed over the New Year period and had a wonderful time.

We chose Coral Bay because of the 2 bedroom bungalows they offer. My parents in law had one of the bedrooms and my husband and I shared the other with our 3 year old son.

We had a Premium Deluxe Beachfront Bungalow (number 3/4 which I think is the best positioned one) we were only 2m from the beach, but still close to all the amenities. The rooms with their enormous shared terrace were lovely - huge bed, huge bathroom, very traditional, good facilities (and cartoon network to keep the 3 year old entertained.)

The gardens are beautiful and landscaped very well so all the bungalows feel very spaced out and private.

The staff were very helpful and polite. We had a few problems upon arrival with the room, but they were fixed very efficiently. The front desk staff were very helpful and informative, the room service was very quick and the food (especially the Thai) was very good. There was a kids menu at both the Coco Rock Restaurant and the Beach Bar.

The beach isn't the white powdery sand of main Chaweng beach. It has gold sand and is much quieter and relaxed compared to Chaweng which we found very over crowded.

There is a reef about 20m off the beach which when the tide drops leaves a lagoon on the beach side - perfect for kids to splash around.

We did have a lot of wind which I think is common for that time of the year. The main Chaweng beach was much more sheltered from it.

We had a great time here and would highly recommend it.
