My wife and I spent last weekend at Eden Rock in Koh Samui. Let me say that as beautiful as the pictures are on the website they don't quite capture the dramatic location and view. We were picked up by the driver who took us on the 20 minute ride to the hotel. We arrived late at night so we weren't able to appreciate the view until waking up to a full 180 degree view of Chaweng beach and the surrounding islands. We stayed in the Rice House. The villas are HUGE, 3 full floors with 2 bedrooms complete with 2.5 baths. The 2 decks are expansive and both have incredible views. The infinity pool is awesome for just lounging and reading listening to music. The villa is fully wired for sound complete with an ipod hookup. There are 2 flat screen tvs but we never turned them on.
The staff is so incredibly warm and friendly, they made us breakfast both mornings on our deck overlooking the sea. There were always fresh towels and flowers and nothing was ever too much to ask. We went to lunch down at the beach and the driver was happy to drive us and to come back and get us when we were done.
We have stayed at some amazing resorts over the years (one and only reethi rah, shangri la boracay, burj al arab) and this ranks right with all of those with ease. It is the perfect place to get away from it all and relax.
We really loved the authenticity of the design and architecture, it really feels like you are in a far off place. We had an opportunity to check out the Eden Rock Villa which is absolutely ridiculous...4k sq feet with 4 br's, huge living areas and decks, complete with infinity pool and swim up bar. We will definitely be coming back here with a few friends to experience that....
