“All you need to know”

Firstly,if you are looking to stay here then you are probably flying by ryanair into Ciampino.
Dont get a taxi unless you can spare the 30 Euros for a 2 mile trip.
Getting there take the Anagnina bus that goes via Ciampino, other bus goes Direct. This will cost 1.2 euros.Timetable on Bustop The bus turns right out the airport and follows around the airport. The bus will stop outside Ciampino Railway Station (F.S) you cant miss it.
If you need some provisions, there is a supermarket opposite the bus stop,to the right round the corner.
Next head into the station, downstairs through the underpass, then take the first left, follow this road there is a slight kink after Todis (Supermarket similar to aldi) all the way to the second last street on the left.(You will pass a yard full of Campervans.).
It looks like all the other apartments on the street .
I stayed 2 nights in a twin room.Room had TV with av socket if you bring your own DVD as all channels are Italian (Has MTV).An Empty Fridge that will take 24hours to chill your Drinks.Air con (Not that effective and the maid turns it off when you go out)My bed rolled around the room every time i moved, until i discovered it had huge wheels that could be locked,Shower room OK but had only one light working water goes everywhere from the shower,Face towels are dishclothes(Tea towels).Breakfast was poor i Bread Roll 1 Croissant jam and butter 1 Carafe of Orange Cordial that will be topped up and given to the next Guest,Instant coffee even though they have a coffee machine.
Second Day no Bread roll as they had a group booking and they had all the rolls.
So the hotels is cheap at 33 Euros per night (Rates2go)easy access to the center by Train 1.3 euros.OK for a few days if you are on a Budget.Thishotel is at the end of the Runway so expect some noise although i did not find it to bad.

“Hotel Dany-- great memories”

The date above was entered only to enable me to write a review.
We stayed at Hotel Dany in June 1976.

My family stayed at the OLD Hotel Dany when we arrived in Ciampino on a Nato assignment -- I worked at Monte Cavo. We arrived in 1976 and spent about 2 great months at Hotel Dany, then 3 years in Ciampino.

When we were reassigned to Virginia in 1979, we again stayed
at the Dany for about 2 months, again we were provided a 2 apartment suite.

We enjoyed our time there with the owner and family.
Are Tony and his family the owners of this Hotel Dany?

“A Good Airport Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2008

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night as a stop over before driving into Tuscany. As an airport hotel it is spot on; the rooms are clean, its relatively quiet and very close to the airport.
However, the breakfast is poor, and I wouldn't reccommend it for the whole holiday stay. Although it does have a pool its not up to much an it appears to be in a residential area, so there isn't much to do around. If you're going to Rome you would really want to be closer.

“Perfect Overnight Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2008

We stayed at this hotel for one night having arrived on a late flight into Ciampino airport. The hotel is approx 3km away but the taxi fare within a radius of Rome is a standard €30. We were lucky and got a local taxi driver who only wanted a short journey and charged us €20!
The hotel is basic and clean. Our room was on the ground floor but very quiet. There is no bar or eating facilities but this was not a problem as we were just looking for a bed. We were able to buy bottled water from the receptionist. Breakfast was basic – croissant, roll and jam, juice & tea/coffee.
We had a look at the pool area and it looked nice with a few sun loungers but we did not have time for a dip.
Unfortunately, at checkout, our passports were not returned to us and we forgot to ask for them. We phoned from our next hotel in Sorrento and Daniele on reception promised to put them in the safe until we returned to Rome. We collected them on our return 10 days later all safe and sound. Great hotel – great price. We paid €45 for a double room B&B on www.accomline.com I would definitely stay again if needing a hotel near the airport.

“Rome for the New Year”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2008

My friends and I booked this hotel through booking.com and found this hotel to be one of the most reasonably priced hotels on the net for what we wanted. There was three of us so we managed to get a triple room, paying 215euros per person for a total of 5 nights, which we found very reasonable for a 3 star hotel and considering it was Xmas/New Year holidays.

The hotel is only a 5 or 10 minute walk from Ciampino train station (depending how fast you walk!) and from there you can get a train into Roma Termini for 1.30 euro one way or 2.60 euro return, train only take 10 mins into Termini. The hotel is very conveniently situated, pretty much within stone's throw of the airport. You can hear SOME planes take off but we never spent any time in the hotel anyway to hear them take off. If you're out & about in the day, you have no worries, after our 2nd night, we didn't even notice the planes. When we left to go back to the airport, we just had to walk back to the train station & from there pay 1euro for the coach into the airport, but we had the convenience of not having to travel far and leaving the hotel at 8.30am to check in at 9am for an 11am flight.

I would advise anyone staying here to check the train times though, as public transport in Rome doesn't run late and a lot of taxis will be reluctant to drive out of central Rome just to drop you to the hotel unless you pay them a fair amount of money. We had to pay some dodgy taxi man 50euros to take us back to the hotel from the Termini at 2am on New Years day after celebrating in Piazza del Popolo. I think the last train back into Ciampino is just before midnight.

The hotel reception spoke good english and the cleaning staff were excellent, cleaning our rooms while we were eating breakfast. The only down point I would say is that breakfast is rather limited. You only get a croissant & bun each, orange juice & a tea or coffee. Being from England I guess we're too used to having cereal or the occassional eggs & bacon!

Otherwise, everything was great & I'm glad we stayed at this hotel & would recommend it. It was convenient and clean, good staff, reasonably priced and everything we needed.
