“Cooking class at its finest!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

We took a cooking class from Chef Christian, carefully designed by his delightful wife, Christianna and assisted by Natalie. Every detail was considered and skillfully taught. The final presentation (Omelet Napoleon, Crepes Suzette, and a Country Savory Gallette) was even better, because we all sat down and ate the final results! Christian tells the story of the origins of these dishes at the presentation, and his fabulous "uncorking" of the champagne with his sabre is a highlight, preceeding the appetizers he had prepared. Try his wonderful quail eggs on croutons! La Prevenchere is a delightful home, opened to guests with French charm and a warm welcome. Your hosts speak excellent English. We highly recommend Brittany, St. Caradec, and La Prevenchere! Enjoyez la cuisine! Nancy and Dave, Minnesota, USA

“Something special...(probably the owners!)”

We stayed for one night on our way to a gite (brittany spa cottages - reviewed too).
It was a lovely experience, mainly because of the owners who are possibly two of the nicest people I have met. There is a really nice relaxing, welcoming atmosphere at La Prevenchere, we would definitely go back.
We are a bit picky, we like nice places and holidays are precious escapes from the world of work, stress and deadlines...we like nice accommodation, a bit of luxury if possible and nice food; if I was going to review La Prevenchere purely on the room I would say it was a little bit 'shabby-chic' with a hotch-potch of furniture and the room we had could definitely do with a bit of TLC. BUT this all fades into insignificance because of the owners and the atmosphere.
After two days into the week at the lovely gite we tried to book to go back to La Prevenchere for a day for the end of our week...but sadly it was full (I think there are 4 rooms?); instead we went for a B&B which describes itself as 'a luxury B&B in southern Brittany'...I'm not reviewing this particular place as I don't like to do negative reviews (it was appointed to a very high standard and had a very grand opinion of itself and we would never go back! - interestingly all their reviews are excellent and long and detailed..hmmm!).
Finally...thank you , merci beaucoup to Christian and Christiana at La Prevenchere...I can't wait to see you again. Hope you will have us back.

“An unknown gem in Brittany. Shhhhhhhh. Don't tell anyone; it will spoil it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 June 2010

In the most idyllic village, this little B&B is among the greatest finds we've ever come across. Located midway in the peninsula, one can explore either the north or south shores, or both. Take the back roads in the vicinity for a real picture of Breton life. Or ask the inkeepers, Christian and Christiana, who are an endless found of knowledge. They'll point you in the right direction for whatever adventure you'd like. Don't miss the seventeenth-century real life deposition sculptures in the local church. A real find and a town with a genuins (not pseudo 19th century Breton church tower.) If you're lucky, you might get Christian to give you a cooking lesson!

“A well kept secret”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 June 2010

This B & B is a hidden gem in the heart of Brittany. Not only is the accomodation excellent but guests have the opportunity to experience gourmet cooking classes from the renown Parisian chef Christian Calle! The village and surrounding areas of Brittany are breathtaking. While we were only able to stay one night we would love to be able to return and come away with more great memories of the country, the hosts and skills to make any tummy a happy one! We highly recommend this B & B for its comfy bedroom facilities, great food and very welcoming hosts - Christian's crepe suzette is to die for!!

“We felt like we were a part of the family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2009

My wife decided to take a cooking class in Brittany while I sailed with a friend. She could not have chosen a more welcoming host and hostess.I joined her after a few days and was able to enjoy some of the culinary delights that Christian (the cordon bleu chef) and my wife prepared. The accommodation was very comfortable and the location was very good for exploring the Brittany countryside. Christian and his wife, Christiana were very helpful in directing us to points of interest. We were treated as a part of the family during our stay and we feel like we have made some new close friends. We will definitely return to La Prevenchere.
