We booked this hotel on our anniversary trip, staying two nights in this supposedly spectacular beach area of Calabria. The beach was nice but far away from any "hotels". We travelled off season so figured it would be ok. Based on the Hotel Information, lack of proper address had us driving around for 1 hour looking for the hotel (apparently it moved location) even though we had updated GPS.
Hotel stated it was walking distance (NO WAY), & the shuttle service was absent. Our room was lovely, but no safety deposit box in room (as indicated on outline) and there is a huge balcony that runs along the entire side of the building with no personal dividers per room, so God forbid, you left your door unlocked. There was no air conditioning in the room (we had booked/upgraded to Deluxe room & were offered another smaller room with air conditioning). The "restaurant" had poor services as most guests were on an "all inclusive" bracelet system & we were paying as we ordered which apparently meant we ranked lower on the service end. On the second day, we had no electricity, no running water, no back up generator - we were lucky we had purchased bottled mineral water the previous day otherwise couldnt even wash our faces...We basically left early. We did feel badly for the young lady at Reception who did try to help us, but how? There was also nightly entertainment for lack of better word...location so isolated it felt like the Carribean where we have had WAY BETTER service in 3rd world countries - what a dissappointment...definitely not 4stars but could be if management did their jobs.
