My husband and I stayed at Pomarède in the summers of 2005 and 2006 - we found the food fantastic, the chateau beautiful and enjoyed both stays. The staff were very nice.
Madame, however, was a bit grumpy.
Nevertheless we are sure to return in view of the spectacular setting and the friendliness of the restaurant staff.
The rooms are modern and tastefully appointed and very reasonable.
If you go - don't book the demi-pension - it will leave you with less flexibility with regard to the menu. There are interesting wine menus which are well worth trying. The sommelier is very knowledgeable and friendly and will introduce you to some unusual wines all de la région, of course.
