“just perfect.......”

Stayed at Timothy Beach Resort Nov 2011. 2 weeks second visit to St Kitts, fourth visit to Carribbean, Really loved the whole experience. To start; room was really nice with seemingly new furniture and renovated bathroom. loved the fact that the lounge walked out onto the balcony with a superb view of the caribbean Staff were just excellent from the room maid, through the reception and restaurant, to the beach bar. nothing was too much trouble yet not in your face, unlike the Marriott nearby. Beach; whilst in no way the best in the island, it was ok and straight into the clear water for excellent snorkelling. Had an issue with another guest which was dealt with by the manager in a discreet but effective manner. Finally, the sunsets from the beach bar are to behold. Definately be back.

Room Tip: take the 'ocean view' option.

“Spacious & clean rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

A clean hotel with good sized rooms, looking down on "The Strip", a row of 10 or so dumpy beach bars. Our room appeared to be recently remodeled. Nice views of the town from the deck. Just down the road from the huge, new Marriot resort. On Sunday night the beach bar has a very popular live music night.

“Recommended!”

We've spent three nights here leading up to a week-long villa rental on sister island Nevis. Rooms are clean, housekeeping friendly. The wee coffee pot and instant coffee supplied was perfect for me to get a first cup as the sun rose each morning along with our porch overlooking the island. We appreciated the two complimentary drinks, and had appetizers at the restaurant attached to the inn. We LOVED the plethora of on the beach restaurants just steps away. We ate in a different one each lunch ($10 average) and dinner ($25 including a Carib or two). Food has been outstanding with lots of local veggies and plentiful servings.
Beds are a little dated, and our king size is two twins pushed together. AC worked fine though we only used it sporadically, mostly to provide white noise over the Reggae from the beach bars. (Worked great and we slept well).
Snorkeling just off the pier really great with coral, sea fans, and good variety of fish around the corner. (we brought our own gear). The beach is so accessible though there are day trippers from cruise ships that arrive via taxi.

Room Tip: My daughter stayed in a mountain view room. Very comfy.

“Relaxing 2 weeks”

This was a great base to explore the island from. Better to higher a car if there are two or more of you as taxi fares though set for most destinations are expensive. Beware short taxi journeys are twice the price. Timothy Beach and the Strip are really lovely but a trip to Cockleshell and Friars beaches are a must, just be prepared for a bumpy ride, as the roads are in need of some investment. Check out the food at the Reggae Beach bar on the far side of Cockleshell, monster and yummy. Food at the hotel restaurant is good and the staff are friendly. Though they may appear to have that caribbean surliness you can make them laugh fairly easily. The beach bar is a great place to meet people in a friendly relaxing atmosphere before and after dinner. For currency better to take stirling and change to EC dollars out there. Everywhere takes US dollars but this hikes the price as things are always rounded up.

Room Tip: Sea view from higher floors breathtaking in the morning and at sunset

“Comfortable Island Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

I stayed at the Timothy Beach Resort for two nights after a week at the Four Seasons on Nevis for a business trip. On my own dime, I prefer the lower rate and lower level accommodations that Timothy Beach offers.

Upon arrival, someone helped me with my luggage, which was nice, as there was a medium length walk to my room with some stairs involved. I upgraded to a beach view room, and it was large, with a nice deck. I had no problems with hot water - it was always available - as opposed to some comments other guests have made. The light and fan in the bathroom were noisy, but that was the only thing that bothered me about my room. The bed was comfortable, even though the pillows were a bit firm for my taste. It was quiet enough in my room for me to go to bed pretty early each night.

There is a nice selection of bars along the beach by the hotel, and tourists and locals alike were enjoying the water. I took a cab to Cockle Shell Beach based on the recommendation of another visitor, and enjoyed a day spent there. Great swimming, and some more bars and restaurants to enjoy.

You can actually walk to the Marriott if you choose. After seeing it and having breakfast there one day, I prefer the low-key vibe of Timothy Beach. In summary, I had a nice stay, and though it's not fancy, it's in a good location for enjoying yourself on St. Kitts.

Room Tip: Spend a little and upgrade to a water-view room. The decks are great.
