We went self catering as we like to get up late, eat out and do our own thing which we did every day!
The accommodation was cleaned every day except Sunday, the pieces of cutlery were limited but were replenished if reported to reception. The kettle would boil then reboil after 5 mins when the temp dropped, so you had to make sure you switched it off. The twin beds were hard and the sofa was uncomfortable and in need of re-upholstering or re cushioning. We had to make sure that we did not leave food around as there were many tiny ants who would come out of the woodwork, but it is what you would expect in a hot country.
Only major complaint was the water was cold at night so you had to shower in the mornings.
TV was limited only 3 english channels BBC World News, CBS Drama and Eurosport but they were free with only £10 deposit for remote which was refunded when you leave.
The safe costs £35 (£25 per week plus £10 returnable deposit) a bit expensive. The resort around the apartment was limited with a few bars and places to eat, plus two supermarkets.
However, Los Gigantis is only a few miles away with a great selection of places to eat and drink. Try the Public Oasis which is open until 6pm which is truely a great place to relax, eat and forget any troubles with a restaurant cliff bar and sun loungers. A piece of heaven! Worth the trip alone!. Or sit in the Square and eat 3 courses for just 9 Euros (It was delicious!)
We had a great time as we hired a car from Economy Car Hire (book before you go as it is much cheaper!), this is the only car hire that does not have any charges if you did have an accident!) Others offer you an extra policy with a charge of 70 euros for this!
Don't be put off by the negative comments of the hotel as you can pick it up cheap.
Go and enjoy the warmth and the sun!
