“Hit & Miss!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

To start off, we were NOT supposed to be in this hotel. So our opinions on the whole holiday are less than what they should have been.

Rooms: The first room we had was a complete squalor, something you'd expect the yobs to stay in at Butlins! Plug sockets hanging out the walls, insect infested, dirty and just generally horrible. We were forced to stay in this room for 2 nights until the staff could allocate us something better.
2nd room was fantastic! 3rd floor, above reception. The only noise we heard were some noisy neighbours and our hallway was the maids morning meet up point.

Food: Do NOT come here all inclusive! The buffet food is in general terrible. You could piece together something but most of it was inedible- the onsite pizza restaurant- Morrcollo, was nicer so if you are all inclusive, do try to go there. For a better breakfast, go to the Sports bar just up the road. Drinks fine, snackbar fine- although burgers could do with being warmed up in your microwave!

Hotel Grounds: Pools, bar, evening bar and entertainment- fine if you like that sort of thing. Some parts very run down- don't bother playing mini golf!

Location: Fine, though if you go far you will have to go up/down hills to get anywhere interesting. Like the natural pool. Some nice bars and resturants around with good entertainment and food with friendly staff.

Room Tip: Avoid groundfloor if you can.

“If you suffer from asthma or are allergic to cigarette smoke, don't go here”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

This apartment hotel is very tired - rusty fridge, rusty bath, very uncomfortable sofa, 80s decor.
Very under-equipped for self-caterers - beans on toast would be about as gourmet as you could manage, and even that would be a struggle as there is only one power-point for a kettle, a toaster and a microwave.
Very noisy at night, with sometimes 2 competing discos blaring out their music. The hotel asks guest to be quiet after 11pm, but these discos go on until midnight.
We suffered from cigarette smoke coming into our room - we can only assume that it was because our next door neighbor was a heavy smoker, and it was permeating through the air-conditioning ducts.
The only thing going for this hotel is that it is clean, and is convenient for several restaurants.

“EXCELLENT HOTEL & LOCATION”

Just returned from a week All Inclusive with Thomsons. Hotel clean, well mainted, food good, drinks and snacks great. The evening entertainment was poor but nice to get out and go to some local bars with excellent nightlife (Especially Route 66).

I recommend you hire a car and get around to Los Gigantes, Masca Village etc. Also the boat trip to see Whales and Dolpins from los Gigantes was excellent. Just go down to harbour and book direct for about 30 Euros for 3 Hours incl lunch.

Room Tip: Ask to be on the RHS of the hotel as its huge with 600 rooms

“Don't believe all you read!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

I have just returned from a week's stay all inclusive at this apartment hotel. I was rather anxious about what to expect after reading some of the reviews. However I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was a 4th floor studio apartment which consisted of a separate bedroom and large kitchen/lounge with the balcony overlooking one of the swimming pools. We were in 477 and the balcony got the sun from 3 pm to 6 pm.

The food was basic but plenty of choice and not the same every day

The drinks did come in plastic cups but there are glasses in the kitchen so if you take one down you can use this instead. There were wine glasses on the tables at lunch and dinner.

The resort is fairly quiet not not too out of the way. There is a pleasant walk to Los Gigantos and Puerto de Santiago. The bus stop is about 10 minutes walk up some steps with regular services through to Los Christianos.

The whole complex was very clean and the staff were very helpful and polite. There is free wi fi in the reception area but for some reason my lap top couldn't connect. Most other people's seemed to. However the hotel have an alternative connection which for 20 euros I was connected to all week and was able to use my laptop in the room which was more convenient really.

My only complaint was that the entertainment was not particularly good. However there are other bars nearby where there is alternative entertainment. However we stayed in the complex as we were all inclusive and didn't want to pay for drinks.

The transfers too and from the hotel were smoothly arranged. We thought we received value for money and wished we'd booked two weeks instead of one!

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view and fourth floor means there is no one above you
