“Another great stay”

Have stayed here twice.once in october 2011 and once october 2010.Origanally the hotel was called costa los gigantes hotel until taken over by first choice.I can not fault the room cleaning and size.Pools and entertainment were fantastic on both visits. It can be as relaxing or involved as you like.Only downside with this hotel is being woken at 6am in morning with the scraping of sunloungers as people place there towels on them and adjust them to their required positions.
Food fantastic.
We will be booking to go back.

Room Tip: all great rooms

We stayed in sept 2011, 8 of us. Everything that a holiday village should be for the kids, food brilliant and endless choices and pools lovely and entertainment brilliant for kids panto particually funny! My one gripe was sun beds, we took it in turns to go down at 6am to reserve beds but didn't ruin hols. Couldn't fault it!

“Lovely Hotel- Very Impressed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Just returned from a 4 night break with partner both of us in late 40's. I was very impressed, the coach from the airport took about 45minutes. When we were dropped off, we were dealt with very efficently by the reception desk. They provided maps and explained where our room was situated and the times of the restaurants and how to use the safe. They also explained that for a refundable deposit we could have fresh beach towels everyday. I was upset not to learn this before as I would have not taken towels as we had a reduced baggage allowance. We were then taken by buggy with luggage to our room. The room was lovely had two tv;s one in the lounge and one in th bedroom. The fridge had soft drinks and water which was topped up daily. The view was great looking over the island of Gomera.
The areas round the pool were kepted very clean the life guard was very strict with running and was always blowing his whistle if people were not taking note of the pool rules. The sun beds had cushions what a treat and the beds were easy to find not sure what this would be like in the summer.
The restaurants were very busy and kept very clean there was a variety of food with theme nights every night.
The music bar served different local drinks and there was always a singer in the evening which kept people entertained. In the main bar area the entertainers held the children's disco and then there was a nightly show followed by a disco.
The Spa and Gym facility was really good they provide the gym free of charge and gave gym towels. The Spa was lovely we were given a free session we were given towels and poolside shoes, really lovely I felt really relaxed. You could have paid for extra massages and to use the spa again another day.
The Facilities for children were really impressing the childrens clubs and the outside areas, every child we saw seemed to be getting involved.

The resort was very quiet we went for a long walk which was down a hill which meant there was a long walk up. The buses run very frequently which take you down into Playa de americas for a change of scenery.

The Reps and the entertainment staff were very helpful and happy to inform you of places to visit.

I really enjoyed my long weekend and we are looking to return with our son later in the year.

Room Tip: We had a room in Block D which was lower level the view from the 1st or second floor rooms would be...

“Great holiday”

Travelled with kids aged 2 and 4. Firmly a family hotel, kids kept entertained from morning to evening. There was a soft play area, playground and 3 pools, 1 of which there was a slide at. I would say playground was maybe for aged 5 and under and soft play the same. Slide at pool only open for an hour in the afternoon. Apart from this there was the first choice kids club and hotel run kids club. The first choice kids club ran from early in the morning until 11pm at night on some nights. There was also the high wires which appeared to be a hit with the older kids.

Food was ok, we could always find something to eat but for kids it was a bit more tricky. There was a kids buffet but to be honest at times this just looked like a scrambled version of the adult food.

Hotel was busy off-peak so could imagine what it would be like at peak times. Not a busy resort, was one street with shops maybe 15 mins walk away down a steep hill but to be honest didnt have much cause to venture out. Kids happy at pool and playground area.

Entertainment for adults ok, all-inclusive cocktails a hit!!

Room Tip: Ask for block C and D for a good rooms with sea view.

“Excellent for families”

We stayed at The Tenerife holiday village at the end of October. We took our Grandchildren who loved it here.
There was always something going on for kids of all ages.
The rooms and reception area's were clean and airy, room's are great for families as there is the main bedroom with a large bed and a lounge with a sofa bed. (Great for some privacy)
As we went low season we did not have a problem with queuing for the restaurant but we have been told that high season it become's quite manic. The food was really good and plenty to choose from.
The downside we found was queuing for drinks at the bar, they make you queue up in a line which is probably fair as you get served in the order you arrive. However I should imagine that getting drinks high season must take ages!!
I'm disabled and on crutches but can only walk short distances. This hotel is very large but luckily they do have Wheelchairs for hire which made life much easier for us.
I would recommend this hotel for families but it would not be our choice if we didn't take the Grandchildren as we like it slightly more relaxing, that is nothing to do with the hotel just our preference.

Room Tip: We took a taxi down to the town as it is very hilly, We had a drink in a sports bar there as we like...
