Just back from two weeks in this hotel, not usually our sort of holiday, but thought we would give it a go. Hotel is ok, very Mallorcan in decor. No problem with the room at all, kept clean, I agree that the cleaning staff were the most friendly. Reception staff not friendly at all, even though we were friendly toward them. We changed rooms to get an ocean view and it was just lovely. We went there because of the quiet so no complaints from us about lack of night life. Other resorts including Palma were easily accessible by bus and taxi, taxis friendly and honest. We were not that impressed with the hotel food, we ate breakfast there most days, and used the Cafe Illemar down the road a lot - did not have a bad meal there, and staff terrific. Hotel pool is ok, but not for non-swimmers, there are three depths and they are all very deep, fine for us, but not for kids. Everyone has commented on the sun beds and it's all true. The cove is good for swimming. If you are wanting the TV, forget it, the only English channel is BBC 24 hour news, and the hairdryer is useless so take a travel drier, and yes, take a travel kettle. You can borrow cups from the dining room, but they don't like it!! Dining room rather dark, so get there very early to get an outside table, and look at the sea and the pool. A good start to the day. Biggest complaint for service was the lunch. The only lunch is a Euro 15.50 buffet which almost NO-ONE wanted. There was a mass exodus for people leaving to go elsewhere. They should just serve baguettes or something, that way they might sell some drinks as well. We went somewhere else or got some food in and ate in on the balcony but would have been nice to sit by the pool, but not that particular food or that price. A tip - take a cab to Puerto Portals and eat at the Capacino or Wellies, lovely place to walk around and have a bite to eat. If you want Car Hire, go to Belmar and see Jose, good value and nice guy. I have read many of the reviews on this website and sorry to agree with most of the negative ones. The staff REALLY need to address their customer service, it's truly bad. The lack of courtesy after two weeks really started to get to me! So management if you are reading this, do something about it, there are complaints here going back months and nothing is changing. Very bad for business.
