First and foremost this place is a "hostel" - not a hotel, but actually not really a hostel either - so don't expect luxury but equally don't expect a hole! The owner, an american ex-pat by the sounds of her accent (sorry can't remember her name) was lovely - gave us tips of some nice beaches/places to eat etc.
The place can be a little tricky to find and anyone who drives to jimena will know that the narrow and steep streets are a little challenging especially when you're not sure where you're going. Once there you realise the beauty of the place, charming sleepy old town, lovely old castle/relics on top of the hill, breathtaking views etc. The hotel is quirky (random staircases leading to different levels, beautiful flowers and gardens, a cracking sun roof/swimming pool area and a normal looking restaurant and bar). Our room was particularly enjoyable - a nice ensuite double with plenty of character and an alluring nude portrait! (which looked, don't quote me, like it could've been the american owner posing in her youth?!).
Food in the restaurant was excellent - beware in busy times/weekends you have to book a table to eat there - even if you are a guest at the place. Bar was great - and quite a hub of the local community. Breakfasts were perfect on the terrace in the morning.
Wish we'd stayed longer to be honest.
