“Nice Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We stayed at this hotel as we were attending a 60th birthday party being held in one of the Function Rooms. The hotel is clean, tastefully decorated. Staff are friendly. The pool is bigger than expected, although we did not swim or visit the Spa. Breakfast was excellent and caters for most needs. Rooms were lovely, nicely fitted out. Bathroom not too big, not too small with shower and bath. Towels were thick and lovely. Thoroughly recommend staying here. Its a little way from Bath but might be a cheaper option.

Room Tip: The nine hole golf course is right outside. There is a dress code.

“Best Western Customer Review Oct 2011”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

The outside of the Hotel was very clean and tidy with ample and secure parking,
The reception is nice, with plenty of room, the reception staff are not the best I've had the pleasure of meeting, that's when they are not hidden around the back room, but do welcome you. From what I tell the members of staff don't wear name/position badges, always nice to know who you are talking to. Food and Bar is very good, I tried the chefs new starter, and it was outstanding. facility's are very good, clean and good fun. Top marks to the cleaners!! Very Clean Hotel. I would highly recommend this Hotel. Just need to kick the reception Staff up the A** Every customer needs to be treated like they are the best customer. 8 out of 10 for this Hotel...

“Nothing too much trouble.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

We arrived at 12am (check in normally from 3pm) and the receptionist very helpful, made a phone call to see if room ready and as it was allowed us to book in-no power crazed individual who could't see past the desk!
We were travelling as 2 families with 4 children and the hotel opened specially the seating area in Cubros bar at 5pm so that the kids could eat their meals.(the sports bar was open and full of football watchers and so not an ideal environment for them to eat together in)
One of the kids wanted sausage instead of chicken which wasn't on the menu. This was done with no fuss.
Later, away from the restaurant we asked for a piece of bread for the 1 year old. This was provided with a smile and no extra cost.
Room was clean and smartly decorated.
Evening meal was good but service slightly slower than i would have expected.
Breakfast was excellent but would like crispy bacon as didnt like rasher served.
One of the other families in the party left their sunglasses at the hotel. The hotel rang us and have arranged to return them.

“BETTER THAN MOST”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

Used our Tesco tokens and after trying to get into a city centre hotel we plumped for this one. Glad we did as it is a pleasant distance from Bath but also reasonably close to the coast. Room was lovely overlooking garden/golf course. Breakfast was off good quality served in a light, airy room. Pool small but a lovely place to go after a long day on the streets of Bath. Food in the bar was pub grub but cooked in main kitchen - again no complaints of the quality. Quite a nice little bar obviously used by the community with golf on offer too. Will use it again as it is less expensive than city centre hotels and parking is free!!

Room Tip: overlooking golf course

“Disappointing welcome and service, good accomodation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

I stayed at this hotel for one night attending a local birthday party, I arrived at the hotel at 6.30pm to a very quiet reception and a fairly shocked looking receptionist as they weren't expecting any new guests. After a few minutes it was determined that my booking had been cancelled centrally but I had still been charged for the room! The receptionist did resolve this promptly and i was then promptly checked in.

The room was pleasant, had good facilities and was clean and tidy.

The following morning I attended breakfast at just after 10am (served until 11am at weekends), I was the last guest to attend breakfast and found myself to be worked around with furniture being moved around me, it was not a relaxing Sunday morning breakfast.

The whole hotel was busy with what was looking like a set up for a wedding fair, upon check out I wasn't even acknowledged when I left my key card despite attempting to make eye contact with the receptionist.

Overall a disappointing stay in a hotel brand I would expect more from

Cubros, General Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Centurion Hotel, responded to this review
10 November 2011
We would like to clear up a couple of points for other people reading this review.
The main point is that breakfast times at the Hotel are 7am to 10am everyday, part of basis for the disappointing comments in this review, we looked after this guest by serving him breakfast after 10am, we would always try and look after a guest coming to breakfast a bit late.
Yes we were getting ready for lunch but that would normally happen after breakfast was finished as most guests would have left by 11am. I do apologise for not responding to your departure, I would hope by reading other reviews that it would be apparent that the staff are always friendly and engaging.
Thank you.
