we stayed here at the end of our Croatian trip for 3 days, basically for a base to get in and out of Split. the apartment was excellent, clean, tidy and staff where very helpful, for example out loo seat was broken when we got there so we reported it to the receptionist within minuites the repair man was there with a new seat!!!! excellent service, you would have waited for days in greece for that, I think that maybe some people there where not to happy, we where ok as we had an outside apartment but some had apartments towards the middle of this little complex and the balconey had no view, we looked over the tennis courts which was great, luck of the draw I supose, but inside you could not fault them, all new equipment, pots and pans, etc very good seating area outside superb beds, found it rather amusing they had put a blanket on it as well as sheets, it was 28c outside not quite UK weather yet...
It was a difficult to find and quite confusing at 1st, once you know where it is, it is fine. it took us a while to figure out we should be driving into the hotel through the secure gate, then around to the apartment reception, then back out on to the road again and back in through a hole in the hedge made into a driveway to get to your own apartment parking, once you have done it the 1st time it is easy, parking is a bit tight though, especially if you don't drive left handers often as there is no turn point when the apartments are full so you either end up revesing in (not from the road) and down the drop or revesing out, no hardship really just worth being aware of, I turned my car around in the daytime when most residents are out ready for the night time.
Driving into Split is......... well interesting to say the least, worth it though, the old town is really nice and at night they have live bands/singers on the harbour, you don't seem to pay for parking on a Sunday, however there are not a lot of shops open on the Sunday, so this is an ideal time to do some recon. From the apartment to the old town in Split is about a 15 minuite drive and is quite well signed even though an Austrian guy said he could not find the centre even though he followed the centre signs, we found it quite easy.
Would we stay here again - yes.
Would we recomend it to friends - yes
Oh yes bakery across the road does some wicked strudel
It has no amenities as such, but the hotel next door has PLENTY, and you can use them if you wish with 30% discount I think the lady on reception said, we didn't use them but they did look VERY nice indeed, we used the beach a little but found the sea very cold up this end compared to the peninsular.
Interesting point though off subject, Europe-Car UK told us we would need a cross border pass at 10Euros, to get the car through Bosnia, the rep at Dubrovnik aiport said no, the rep was right we sailed stright through the borders twice, yet Europe-Car tried to charge us on booking for the pass, we told them we would buy it over there from the rep, not sure what they would be like if you where going to Mostar though!
