This hotel is how I love them. A friendly couple of owners who welcome you warmly without any special manners like you are used in other hotels. They don't talk to you as if you were the president of the United States. No, they consider you as a good friend.

Good food also, the chef made some excellent "Velouté de Choux-Fleurs" followed by some gorgeous "Cuisse de Canard".

Attention: those who are afraid of dogs, shouldn't go there as the owners have a dog. To all those with dog or who like dogs: don't hesitate a single second. If you go to Besse or even to Clermont-Ferrand, don't book a hotel in the city, but there! You will learn to discover some good old-fashioned welcoming from the French Auvergne!!!

When we arrived the hotel looked deserted but we found Florian at the reception desk. He gave us a choice of rooms all at a special offer price lower than we had booked at. Some of the rooms in the corridor were under renovation but we heard no noise from these. The restaurant was closed until early July when the Tour de France was due to charge through the town, but Florian guided us to restaurants in the nearby village. The room was large, comfortable, a nice bathroom and a good view. We breakfasted - probably the best breakfasts we had in France - in solitary splendour in the dining room. Overall because of lack of other guests we felt a little uncomfortable although the staff, especial Florian - and the dogs - went out of their way to be friendly
