“Fantasic location with fabulous hosts a truly memorable time!”

The accomodation is well appointed and seculded with lovely gardens and a great beach for chilrden to explore and for everyone to snorkel with a great variety of marine life.

Centrally located with all the island's amenities a short drive away.

While there are enough local amenities...restaurant/bar a short walk away a car is necessary to get about unless total peace and seclusion are your objective ..in which case the views and sunsets from the veranda are spectacular enough to leave you wanting no more! The gardens have lots to explore with a variety of plants and wildlife and the pool is always a refreshing treat.

The property owners couldn't have been more friendly or helpful and we recieved ecellent treatment from them.

We loved every minute.

“chose Tropical Breeze for relaxed location and atmosphere as well as value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 April 2009

We stayed at Tropical Breeze for two and a half weeks Jan-Feb 2009, and we loved it.
Driving there is easy, and being central it is not too far from anywhere, and especially convenient for sites such as Rhum Point, the Botanical Gardens and the Mastic Trail. It was also interesting just to wander around the back streets of Bodden around by the Mission House; all the people we met were extremely friendly.

We had a room at the front - which was worth it for us for the view - and the road can be a bit noisy at the start and end of the work day, but we spent a lot of time sitting on the front veranda just relaxing and watching the view and the sunsets and didn't find the traffic to be a problem.

We spent some time on the little beach almost every day. It is not a classic sandy beach, but a good exploring beach & great to relax in the hammocks or benches and just listen to the sound of the sea, and we also did quite a lot of snorkelling there. You do have to get out past some turtle grass to get to clear sand & coral, but it's worth it as there were lots of the pretty fish, butterflies and juvenile angels, as well as octopus and barracuda to look out for. You also have the option of the pool for sitting around in the sun and taking a quick dip. There are several outside seating areas looking over the sea or the garden to suit different times of day & to watch different wildlife, the birds & all the butterflies plus the frogs and lizards.

It is only a 5-10 minute drive to the big supermarkets & the Caybrew brewery is conveniently on the way from the airport so you can pick up initial supplies. We didn't opt for the catered breakfast as we were happy to fend for ourselves, and the house is well equipped with everything you need. There was enough equipment and space in the communal areas that we did not feel crowded even if the house was full. If you want active nightlife all the time then it is not the place to choose, but the Lighthouse restaurant and South Coast Bar/Grill are in walking distance, and there is also a little bar/café in Bodden with a balcony over the beach. The house has a stock of books & videos etc but we were too busy relaxing to find time to watch them.

Lisa & Marcia were really helpful with advice about the island and flexible about our arrival and leaving times. Everything is described accurately on the web site so you know exactly what you are getting; everything lived up or exceeded our expectations. We were originally interested it Tropical Breeze for its good value but having stayed there and having seen the rest of the island I would definitely choose go back to Tropical Breeze for the atmosphere and the location.

“Great location and house”

We stayed 5 nights at Tropical Breeze and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It was only 20 mins drive away from Georgetown and 7 mile beach areas but it was lovely to stay in a more tranquil spot out of the busier areas. It was also very convenient to get to the Botanic Gardens and Rum Point from here.
It is a unique place to stay as you rent a bedroom in the house and then everyone has access to the kitchen, pool and garden areas as they like. The beach is just across the road and its wonderful to often have the beach to yourself. It is quite a rocky beach with the coral that was washed up from the hurricane a few years ago, but there are sandy areas too. However this makes it an interesting place to see what has been washed ashore and there some small rocky pools to investigate that contain crabs, molluscs and other shorelife.
The garden is also a lovely place for some peace and quiet, thoughtfully laid out with decks and a cabana, so there is always a spot to enjoy breakfast or read. The garden has a good variety of native trees and plants, attracting lots of birds and butterflies, and gradually blends into the ajoining forest.
It isn't a hotel and as you rent the room you have to fill out some paperwork regarding the rental but it is worth it so dont be put off by all the rules and regulations on the website!
The house was very clean and nicely decorated and it was nice to feel like you were coming back 'home' after a day out. Especially as the resident (outdoor) cat is so friendly and cute too! Would definitely stay there again when visiting Grand Cayman.

“Absolutely Perfect!”

I stayed at Tropical Breeze for two weeks, and it was perfect from start to finish. My room was clean, quiet and private with patio doors that opened to the pool area. I spent many hours by the pool in the company of various birds (a pair of parrots!), butterflies and tiny lizards. The view of the ocean and the surrounding eco-garden were calming and relaxing.
I snorkelled several times a day right across the road, and can assure that the reef there is healthy and vibrant. In two weeks I became well acquainted with an eagle ray, a sting ray, several porcupine puffer fish, large angelfish, squid, an eel and several spiny lobsters, plus hundreds of other fish. The water was clear and warm and a short walk through the turtle grass (no water shoes necessary) led to some of the best snorkelling on Cayman. The pictures included were all taken in the waters at TB.
The kitchen is well equipped with everything to make your own meals, and good restaurants are a short drive away. TB is located on a quiet part of the main road around the island and away from the noise and congestion of Georgetown. A 20-minute drive gets you to Rum Point, a lovely place to spend the day, and because of its central location, Tropical Breeze is not more than 30 minutes drive from any of the sites.
Lisa and Marcia were attentive and conscientious, and provided everything to make a perfect holiday. I travelled on my own, and felt safe and comfortable at all times, in the water and out. Tropical Breeze was perfect for me as a solo traveller, but would also be ideal for a gathering of several family members.
I have made Cayman my choice of islands for holidaying, and will definitely be back to Tropical Breeze. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

“a great fit for us”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 March 2008

My husband, daughter and I--all divers--spent four nights at Tropical Breezes at the end of January, 2007. The cottage we stayed in was better than described, because between our booking and actual arrival, a second bedroom and bathroom had been added! That gave our daughter terrific privacy and all of us some very well- appointed and maintained common space. We liked being out of the hubbub of 7 mile beach, yet didn't feel overly put out to drive there for diving or beaching. (We could have gone closer, but wanted to dive with a company located on 7 mile beach.) The beach across from the B and B was small and somewhat rocky--but for sitting out on a beach chair or snorkeling from, it was fine.

We had more than everything we needed on the Tropical Breezes property: a modest pool for a dip or sunbathing, a barbeque grill,
a lovely water view, some great snorkeling, and a relaxing, low key environment. Lisa was easy to work with and very clear about the property and contracting arrangements. We'd go again, and have recommended Tropical Breezes to others.

  • Liked — low key, immaculately clean thoughout, &well-equipped kitchen
  • Disliked — the need for a car to access beaches, diving, restaurants
