just back from 3 days in the palma playa hotel. the hotel itself is a decent location about 2 mins walk from beach but be warned this resort is totaly german. We walked from can pistalla to elarenal and there was only one british pub. I did read the reviews about this resort but i never actualy thought it would be this bad. EVERYTHING IS GERMAN . all resteraunts advertiuse outside in german the pubs are all german .Its definitly not for the british if i had spent a week here id have gone mad.Please if you are loking at booking mallorca do not touch this resort or hotel with a barge pole. you have been warned

I stayed with my twin brother at Palma Playa I Hotel two nights during a weekend in end of March 2011 paying a total of 60,80 EUR including taxes.

The staff at the main reception was friendly and service minded. They speak Spanish, English and German.

Breakfast (included in the price) met normal standards. We were mainly accompanied by German seniors.

The room was tidy. Every room has its own balcony with a nice view (not spectacular view) of the surrounding area. The location is a couple of blocks from the beach. There are convenient stores and restaurants a couple of minutes walk from the hotel.

It was off season and very easy to find parking (at no cost) for our rental car on the street outside the hotel. Never took the opportunity to try the bar nor the restaurant or swimming pool so no opinion. Beach did not invite no swimming due to the season.

There was only one tiny elevator serving the 6 storey building. The free wifi was only availably in the lobby. Except from that, the hotel is clean and well maintained.

Located in an area mainly populated by Germans . Sat tv has no English progs but many german and spanish. Food is not great but rooms are ok and clean .
Staff take some getting used to as they dont come across as friendly.
It is however still good value and playa de palma has a great beach and promenade.

Stayed here one night. I'd probably go insane if I stayed here a week in hotel and resort.
The pool was revolting, staff never smiled or said thank you, room was clean but looked like something from the 60s, full of Germans but then so was the whole resort which I found was dated too. The TV in the room had about 15 channels but they were all in Spanish or German and the TV in the bar was German football matches. The beach was nice and clean but all the shops were extremely tacky and all resturants sold German food. Hotel was close to the the beach. We caught the bus to Palma a couple of times and unlike on the hotel site it says 15 mins bus ride it was more like 40 mins and it was like being on the London underground scrambling for a seat.
If you are English do not stay in this hotel or resort but I guess the Germans would love it.
