“Much more than your average B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2010

We stayed for a week in July and have no complaints at all. Daphne made us feel very welcome and was always friendly, polite and helpful. The room was lovely, very comfortable and ( most importantly for me ) very clean. The room was properly serviced every day and we had lots of fresh towels. Breakfast was plentiful and we had lots of choice, everything was cooked to order and delicious. There was a great sitting-room which had all mod-cons. We have no hesitation in recommending Stirabout Lane.

“Can't wait to come back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 May 2010

Arrived on a Friday evening after a long drive to be welcomed into Daphne and Pat's home as if we were family. First impressions were of a cosy, warm, friendly home. The bedroom didn't disappoint either. It was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated, with no expense spared. Shower was gorgeous, didn't want to get out. We spent a very relaxing first night in the guests' sitting room by the roaring fire playing boardgames and drinking the coffee that was supplied. The second night we enjoyed a meal at a wonderful restaurant just a stone's throw away. The full irish was second to none. Thanks Daphne and Pat! I'm so glad we didn't fork out for a fancy hotel because stirabout lane catered for our every need and more.

“Quite a Noisy Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2010

My wife and I stayed at the Stirabout B&B 2/1/10. The room and inn were lovely and the hostess, Daphne was wonderful. The biggest problem we had with the Inn was the location. The Inn is on the mail road through town and is literally right on the street. There is maybe a three foot wide sidewalk between the building and the street. Our room was on the second floor facing the street and it seem like the cars and trucks were going through the room the were so loud. We were in room 1, if you get this room a check in, immediately ask for another room. If you are a light sleeper, you will not get a wink of sleep. Also, not big things, but the wifi was out when we were there and the off street parking was blocked by a construction dumpster. These are only temporary issues, so maybe they will be worked out soon. Good Travels.

“Good night's sleep”

We stayed at Stirabout Lane on our very first night in Ireland. The room was very nice and we had a great sleep, after a very jet-lagged day. It is set on the main drag of sleepy Rathdrum, and we parked in a park down the road. The hosts were friendly and nice, albeit a bit frazzled during breakfast. WiFi wasn't working when we were there. Would stay there again.

“Wish we had stayed longer!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2009

We were stunned. Such a beautiful gem of a place hiding away in a wee village. Entering the airy hallway, we were shown to our beautiful, romantic, extreemly comfortable room by Pat (we discovered the delights of the ensuite shower room a little later - I wanted to take it home). He then showed us the spacious guest lounge and the hidden garden! After a blissful night we were set up for our travels by the "Full Irish" (didn't need to eat again until dinner) and set on our way by the lovely Daphne. We hope we had stayed longer, and hope to return.
