I never write reviews but seeing as I only booked this hotel because of Trip Advisor I felt I should add my experiences.

This hotel was great. It has beautiful details in the buildings, from the chandeliers to the tile work throughout. We had adjoining rooms which was great for our teens. They were spacious, nice and clean. Didn't stay much in the rooms so didn't care about a view although we could see the water from our room even though it was a "gardenview".
- as for the three different properties, we knew there were no exchange privileges between the Beach resort and others but it didn't matter as we had enough to do in our own hotel. I met another couple who did stroll down the whole beach (you can walk down the beach past all of the properties) and they went right into the Suites section, walked into their buffet hall and even grabbed a coffee and no one questioned them. They said it wasn't anything better than the Beach resort, if at all it had a smaller buffet area and choice of food.

- the beach is good, and there is always someone close by asking if you want anything to drink. We could always find beach lounges but it was a little more difficult around the pool.

- I can't say enough good things about the staff, whenever we passed anyone in the halls or outside, they would always ask us how things were going and if we were having a good time be it a bellhop or any other worker, they always seemed concerned. As another reviewer stated, if you don't leave a tip in your room then you wont get the extra nice swans or rose petals on your bed after its made up. We forgot and it happened to us too, they do a little extra when you tip. We tipped most everyone but forgot to tip the front desk clerk that always helped us out. When we did remember he was off duty and the next day not in until after our departure so we regretted that because he was always helpful...I asked a few times for our fridge to be restocked and it was done that moment, he also was very helpful to my kids in trying to find those ping pong paddles!!!

- The Food, this was one of the most important issues for us, we are picky, and they didn't let us down. The buffet was really good, with a lot of variety and taste. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the buffet really was. You can also grab food on the beach, which the teens loved.

A Tip about the buffet restaurant, there is an outdoor eating area that is really nice in the evening. For a change of pace from the dining room, bring your dinner outside!!! The atmosphere is much quieter, soft music playing and nice ambiance. And we too saw some cats (kittens), they were probably just under a year old, running around but this was only around the outside area....never inside. And they were skittish, if you put down your fingers to them they'd come closer thinking you had food and one pawed at my hand when I did this but it was nothing, no food and they'd go on their way and play.

- About the other restaurants, we too had trouble making reservations but we found a good way around that issue. There are specific seating times such as 6:30 & 7pm so you show up around 6:35, or say 7:10...and ask them if someone hasn't shown up for their reservations. This was how we ended up getting into them all and at times that we preferred. The Japanese restaurant was a lot of fun. Each restaurant was nice for a change from the buffet and if you can't get into one, walk over to the next and try again. When we got into the Japanese one there were two other no shows at our table and the seating after us there were at least six people that didn't show up.

Overall I think its hard to be disappointed in this place.

We stayed here from January 7-14. The hotel and our room was very clean. The food was good. The staff overall were pretty friendly. Beach is not as nice as Bavaro Beach or Cayo Coco but it was ok. If you like dancing, the night club is excellent. Do NOT buy rum at the hotel. It’s twice the price as compared to the airport store.

Hotel is located approx 20 min from the airport. This Iberostar resort complex exists of three different hotels the Grand, Suites and Beaches all located on a private beach. There is a small duty free shopping area near by and a free shuttle leaves the hotel every hour.

Upon arriving at this hotel we were greeted with a very warm reception and that didn't stop the whole time we were there. The staff were always friendly and willing to help you out if needed.

Our room was very clean, bed was comfortable and we had a great view of the beach. There were a lot of weddings happening in front of our room with music going, but it never lasted after 11 so it did not disturb anyone wanting to go to bed early.
Really liked having a fridge in the room with water and pop stocked in it. The fridge was restocked every other day. The only complaint I would have with this is the stuff in the fridge was never cold, but reading someone elses review they say we should have opened the door to the cabinet it was in.
The hair dryer supplied in the room was horrible (looks like a vacuum tube) so if you need a hair dryer you may wish to bring a small travel one.

We only ended up eating in the buffet restaurant which was very good with lots of selection. Sometimes I found the food a little cold, but in all it was very good.

Pool and beach area were kept very clean. Lots of seating on the beach with a lot of trees that give a good amount of shady and sunny areas.

In all we had a great trip to Jamaica and would definitely stay at this hotel again.

As a very "seasoned" traveller I have very little to say when I read ridiculous comments/reviews from travellers such as Coco67Sudbury.

Had a little "homework" and "investigation" taken place before booking the Iberostar Rose Hall, you would full well be aware of the three different categories of Iberostar properties.

The Trip Advisor reviews made all of this information clear as would a decent travel agent.

This ranking procedure applies to many, many hotel chains that have one or more properties in the same location and that's why there is a difference in what you pay for your trip.

Really a shame when someone has nothing better to do than write comments such as these, as clearly they have never or seldome travelled before.!!

Oh well...I sure hope this was a lesson learned for the next time these people plan a trip. I can just imagine what they were like for the staff of these hotels to have to deal with.
