“Good people, great trip”

Hotel is located approx 20 min from the airport. This Iberostar resort complex exists of three different hotels the Grand, Suites and Beaches all located on a private beach. There is a small duty free shopping area near by and a free shuttle leaves the hotel every hour.

Upon arriving at this hotel we were greeted with a very warm reception and that didn't stop the whole time we were there. The staff were always friendly and willing to help you out if needed.

Our room was very clean, bed was comfortable and we had a great view of the beach. There were a lot of weddings happening in front of our room with music going, but it never lasted after 11 so it did not disturb anyone wanting to go to bed early.
Really liked having a fridge in the room with water and pop stocked in it. The fridge was restocked every other day. The only complaint I would have with this is the stuff in the fridge was never cold, but reading someone elses review they say we should have opened the door to the cabinet it was in.
The hair dryer supplied in the room was horrible (looks like a vacuum tube) so if you need a hair dryer you may wish to bring a small travel one.

We only ended up eating in the buffet restaurant which was very good with lots of selection. Sometimes I found the food a little cold, but in all it was very good.

Pool and beach area were kept very clean. Lots of seating on the beach with a lot of trees that give a good amount of shady and sunny areas.

In all we had a great trip to Jamaica and would definitely stay at this hotel again.

“Some people should just stay home!”

As a very "seasoned" traveller I have very little to say when I read ridiculous comments/reviews from travellers such as Coco67Sudbury.

Had a little "homework" and "investigation" taken place before booking the Iberostar Rose Hall, you would full well be aware of the three different categories of Iberostar properties.

The Trip Advisor reviews made all of this information clear as would a decent travel agent.

This ranking procedure applies to many, many hotel chains that have one or more properties in the same location and that's why there is a difference in what you pay for your trip.

Really a shame when someone has nothing better to do than write comments such as these, as clearly they have never or seldome travelled before.!!

Oh well...I sure hope this was a lesson learned for the next time these people plan a trip. I can just imagine what they were like for the staff of these hotels to have to deal with.

Glad I wasn't there!

“Service could be better”

On the positive side - customer service rep at the check-in desk was very nice and gave us the room we had asked for - close to the beach and the restaurants. We liked the property however the rest of the service could be better. It is rated with 3 stars and it is what it deserves. We attended a destination wedding and there were several issues with wedding coordination, but not only because of that I would give it 3 stars - service overall was less than expected and when one of us was scratched or bitten by the stray cat, which was constantly present in the restaurant, staff members advised to get medical attention from the nurse, but they said that the charge would be $30! Not only they did not apologize for having stray cat right in the restaurant, but wanted to charge for the visit to their nurse!
Cleanliness and quality of food was just average. Quality of beverages were on the lower end.

We book at least one trip a year. I wanted to book the Iberostar Suites but my travel agent said don't waste your money as you get to use all the facilities between the suites and the beach resort. That was wrong information we where there only 2 hours and managed to be asked to leave the lobby of the suites as our bands were the wrong color for the suites which we found funny since the SPA is located in the Suites but you have to walk on the street and walk back in through a seperate entrance where the Casino, disco & SPA. You're good enough to spend your money there but don't walk through the lobby. We were also asked to leave the water park & the lazy river as that is only for suite guests & the grand guest not for the lower class people of the beach resort. Iberostar was always one I have recommended in the past but not anymore.

We are sorry to hear that you felt being treated as lower class people, this was definitely nobodies intention and please accept our sincere apologies for giving you this impression. The Iberostar Rose Hall complex consists of 3 hotels with different access level: Beach guests only have access to the Beach Hotel, Suites guests have access to the Beach and Suites Hotel and Grand guests have access to all 3 properties. Unfortunately you were misinformed before arrival and therefore had different expectations towards the hotel that could not be fulfilled.

Really had a great time at the Iberostar Beach. I was celebrating my birthday September 2011 and it was a perfect way to do so. From check-in to check-out the experience was pleasant. The food was great. Especially enjoyed the Buffet Restaurant. The food was fresh, there was a large variety and I feel overall the quality and flavor better than the specialty restaurants. The staff was quite pleasant and friendly. Some of the employees I want to mention by name are: Andre & Carlos at Front Desk; Joshua & Daniela in Guest Services; Paul in the Buffet Restaurant; David in Jambalaya and Charley, chef in Buffet Restaurant. Also met Reneish, Butler at the Grand when we toured there. The only negative was the length of time it took to clean the rooms. We had to call a few times but when we did they would expedite the process. I would highly recommend the hotel

Room Tip: Room 1225 great oceanfront room. Corner room. Great view of beach and infinity pool.
