“2nd time's a charm!”

We just returned yesterday morning from our second stay at the Hilton Rose Hall Resort in Montego Bay and we had another fabulous time! I highly recommend this resort for families with small children as it is very close to the airport and has a lot of things for kids to do. Our two boys are 6 and 3 and they loved it!
The beach isn't bad at all!
I am not picky when it comes to food especially when I don't have to do the cooking so I thought the food was fine! Lots of different things to choose from!
I think the point I most want to mention though is how friendly the staff is! So welcoming and so warm! Every staff member I passed in the hall greeted me with a big smile and asked me how I was enjoying my stay!
The daily cocktail specials are worth a mention too! Sooooo delicious! Would we go back again? YES!!! I also met another family who had been there four times so I have nothing but great things to say about this resort!
We were treated very well and the weather was amazing! It rained twice while we were there but only at night. Nothing but sunshine and heat during the day!! I also want to mention that because we were return guests we got extra special treatment. A bottle of wine brought to our room and welcome back sign!! It made us feel very special!
Thank you for another awesome family vacation!!

Room Tip: Both times we were there we have had rooms facing the inner area of the resort. Next time I would l...

“Da Hilton is jammin in Jamaica!”

Perhaps as a Hilton Honours Gold VIP member and it being my birthday, the service I received was bias, but it was excellent. I love the Hilton brand and try to use them for business and pleasure - so maybe it's me who's bias!!

But the Customer Service from Nevadah, Ingrid and particularly Angela on the HH Desk was first class. My request for daily bottled water was easily dealt with and Ms Murray in Housekeeping with her team took great care servicing our room and ensuring our needs were met. I had a fabulous week's sleep - high quality bed, Posturepedic Encore720 plush pillowtop. Returned back to the UK and brough something similar as a Xmas pressie to me :)
A big thanks to Housekeeping for the birthday wishes pinned to the door coupled with the surprise arrival of a bottle of Champagne on my birth date :)
A huge thanks to Ashton Hylton, who's beachside waiting service was first rate, he found my lost blackberry mobile and cheers to Ms Gray who coordinated its return.
Had friends visiting and the day pass was $85, start/end timings could be better but overall ok value for money.

No complaints about the all inclusive drinks - Wray & Nephew white rum with Ting is my fave and was constantly on tap.
The food was varied and plentiful, whether breakfast, lunch or dinner options at Fresh restaurant.
An absolute must is the Jerk food on the lunchtime menu at Seaside Grill, truly authentic
Dinner at the onsite Italian, Luna Di Mare was bland and boring and why no female waiting staff. Menu choices did not reflect Northern Italian cuisine, very disappointing.

Did a 1 day's beginner's golf lesson at Cinnamon Hill Golf course $140. Didn't really take to it, despite expert tuition from Seebert Walker, the onsite golf pro.

I normally spend my JA holidays at Discovery Bay, Ochi or Kingston where the JA dollar rules. Very much, the preferred currency in MoBay is US dollars, make sure you bring plenty. Whilst the airport and MoBay town centre is only a short drive, US$30 was the going rate, for a single trip - rather pricey for my likely, but since the hotel's all inclusive,

Next visit will try external food options at The Houseboat, Seahorse Grill and Mobay Yacht Club at Freeport (complimentary pickup)

Ron Daly, general manager, you have a solid team behind you - supporting the Hilton brand.

I definitely will be visiting again.

For all you JWN white rum drinkers:
Duty free is not necessarily the cheapest for your JWN needs, but:
At MoBay Duty Free it was $12 for 1Ltr and $35 for Grey Goose Citron
A roadside Total garage was selling 200ml for JA$302 and 750ml for JA$1123.40
At the Mega Mart, downtown supermarket, they were selling 200ml Appleton at JA$454.95

Arrival and check was great, got to pick an option of room and floor. The hotel is really nice. Our room was on the 7 th floor ocean view and it was amazing.the balcony had a clothing rack to dry your stuff but the winds were strong some nights and everything blew to the ground. The beds were so comfortable, one of the bed in all our vacations. They had flat screen tvs in the room.

I think it is strang that all the hallways had carpet you could smell some mold but they did their best to keep it clean.

Food was good a little sick of it after a few days, but always found something to eat.

Cleaning ladies were great and chatty I enjoyed talking to them.

The beach well....there really isn't one and you needed water shoes and the water is always turned up so you can not see. I expected the nice clear water, swam in it once and decided to stick to the pool.

The pools are always clean and loved the lazy river and the swim up bar. This place has three hotubs from Luke warm to burn your skin hot lol,but nice to have that option.you can swim at any hour of the night the pool is open.

You can rent the cabanas around the pool and beach but I think it was 50.00 us a day I thought was a rip off. This hotel has a spa I did not use it my the people I was with did and they liked it. They had a massage and their nails done, prices are the same that you would pay in Canada.

My trip was cut short as I had a death in the family they sent up a sympathy card to my room and the staff really felt for us. They helped us print are tickets up and did what they could. Knowing our vacation was being cut short and it was our anniversary they also had an anniversary card and a bottle of champayne with two glasses.

Staff at this hotel are super friendly, this hotel is great for families.

I liked everything but the beach it was a major bummer. I love negril more.

Room Tip: Try to go to a higher floor with ocean view or even partial ocean view.

“The Staff Exceeded Our Expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

My wife, 4 year old Son any myself spent a week arriving Jan 26th. We were joined by some of our friends aswell. I could sit and say the same thing as every other positive review but instead i would like to share how the front desk staff delt with our 12 hour flight delay.

We booked with Thomas Crook Canada, and our flight was to leave at 3am the following Monday after arriving on a Sunday. It was sold as an 8 day trip, and as mentioned above, we were delayed 12 hours. Our shuttle was to pick us up at Midnight, I was checking all day the status of our flight, however at Midnight we did get confirmation of the delay. The bus arrived with a bunch of people from the Iberostar down the road, they never checked on the flight. Needless to say before anyone could complain, all of the Hilton guest we assigned rooms again and the Manager in duty even put up the people on the bus from the iberostar. i was very impressed with how we were delt with, the Hilton front desk staff did an amazing job of handling a situation in the middle of the night.

Besides that, we had an amazing trip, I had been to this resort when Wyndham owned and operated the Hotel and enjoyed it very much. Since Hilton has taken ownership the renovation are very good and they were needed.

There are a few staff members that I feel need an honorable mention for their hard work and care given to the guests, they are as follows, Donad at the pool bar, both Wayne's at the pool bar, one is a bartender and the other a server. Lloyd Hamilton was great too, he is a pool bar bartender, and does also tend bar at the Seaside Grill. Finally i cant forget "Action Jackson" at the Three Palms restaurant.

Let me know if you have any questions, we will be back next year

Grant
