“Sound for what it is - a 2 star”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

Picked it largely on price 50 Euros per night. On the Corniche, close to a couple of beaches and with some shops and restaurants nearby. Town is about 30 mins walk away.

We found the staff helpful and the hotel provided a decent, though not particularly adventurous buffet breakfast.

Pool is tiny but OK to cool down in and they had a small lounger/sun area.

Room was comfortable with an en-suite that included a short bath, which might challenge anyone much over 6ft tall, though hot water was a bit eccentric - sometimes coming out of both taps in the sink.

Overall for a few relaxing days it was fine and we'd use it again.

For those travelling by public transport its on the No 3 route, which runs every 20 mins until about 7.30 pm and the stops are right by the hotel.

Room Tip: Some rooms on top floor have balconies

“In need of a facelift”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011

Booked into this hotel for 3 nights because it had a swimming pool. The hotel is located on the Corniche about 3km from the central and anal areas of Sete but there are some shops and a few cafes/restaurants about a 10 minute walk away. About 5 minutes walk away are 2 sandy beaches. Public transport stops early evening so to get in/out of Sete require a walk or taxi (12-14 euros).
Cheapest way to get there from Beziers airport is to get the Airport shuttle bus (1.5 euros) to Marseillan and then the number 9 bus (1 euro) to Sete but get off at the Lido.
Generally the hotel is in poor condion and in urgent need of a facelift. I had a look in a few rooms and they were all generally in a similar condion. For example in our room the riser shower bar was gone so a you needed to hold the shower head above you. the bed was to big to fit between the fixed bedsie tables so you were always in danger of banging your head, the curtains didn't close across completely, the aircon was temperamental, many of the fixtures and fittings were broken and coming away from the walls, most of the advertised TV channels were not available, the front door of the hotel was left open overnight without any staff on duty, much of the poolside furniture was broken, etc. Staff generally friendly but housekeeping not great. The room rate during peak season is 100 euros which is the same rate charged by most of the booking sites so no discount is on offer.
Even a 2 star hotel should not be this tatty and not at 100 euros per night. It needs some money spent on it. However the hotel was full most of the time so with a captive clientelle the hotel is not making the effort.

“nice hotel .... weird set up !!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2010

Stayed here in august for 1 night . Rude welcome by one staff member ... check in staff more friendly and spoke english ! Had to wait an extra hour to get into room ,,,,, not good after 5 hrs on the road in searing heat ...... not a good start .... pool lovely although my boys not eager to go in as everyone had speedos on .... not sure on do or donts with baggy long swim wear ... went to beach ... 10 min walk just across road ... nice beach ... beach bar facilities .The reception staff not that willing to help call for cab to town ... evently got one but waited ages... felt that we got ripped off with fare .... 5 min journey cosy about 15 euros .... cabbie really rude .... Had nice meal in town ..... nothing really special .... felt that most people we met in Sete had a real bad attitude towards us .... last cabbie of the night saved the situation really nice friendly helpful guy ...... To cap it all when we wanted to check out ... reception closed ... was over an hour late in opening up ... had a long road trip had no choice but to leave key in room and check out without a bill ...... Very un professional ..... What sort of hotel are they running here .... Has lots of potential but staff who really dont seem to care ...... What a shame !!!!

“Good value, excellent location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2010

We stayed here for 3 nights - not pre-booked just drove up and booked on the spot. Advertised rate was 70 euro per night but only paid 60 euro after a bit of negotiation. Good location as only 2 mins from beach and local shops and restaurants etc. A bit further to the main town and harbour in Sete but walkable (15 mins) or a few mins drive.
Room large with comfortable bed - bathroom with shower etc all ok. Didn't have any meal or breakfast. Also good aircon unit which did the job. Parking on site.

“Basic Hotel, rude receptionist, no answer from the Manager”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2009

My friend and I had a very bad experience when we stayed in this Hotel.

I payed almost 89€ for a room through Expedia. When we checked in, we were given a room that was 72€ (we saw this price at the back of the door of the room). We went down to the Reception and a lady said that we should had given a room with a sea view, but all of them were occupied that night.

We though it was not fair to pay almost 89€ for a room that was 72€, so we proposed her to have the breakfasts included next morning and she totally agreed.

Next morning, when we checked out, a tall gentleman with grey hair wanted us to pay the breakfasts and we explained to him what had happenned. He started to be angry and he wanted us to pay for the breakfasts. He showed us a paper saying: Total a payer: 72€ and we asked him what that paper was because we had already paid for the accommodation. He started saying: What, what, what do you want now??? What is the problem now??? He wanted us to sign that paper and we finally did it. He was so rude with us and as we were so shocked we just wanted to leave the Hotel.

This was the first time in my life that I was treated that way and I hope not to be treated like this anymore.
I have sent two times an e-mail to the Manager of the Hotel and I haven´t had any reply for almost 1 month.
I think this Hotel is not a very professional Hotel and I´m not going to reccommend it to anyone. I don´t want my family and friends be treated like this person treated us and either a Manager that doesn´t take care of his guests.

My worst experience in a Hotel that I will never go back.
