Overall
Negatives:
Room was unusually hot and noisy, with a poor view
Room was not clean
Poor water pressure in the shower
No breakfast
No security for your luggage
Lack of english-speaking staff
Tiny lift/elevator that is VERY slow, and you must climb one set of stairs to enter the hotel
Beds are hard
Dim lighting throughout the room
Positives:
Location wasn't bad, as not far from pedestrian boulevard and about a 10-minute walk to the beach
Good if you just want a basic, cheap place to stay with no frills
A few good inexpensive restaurants nearby
There is parking on the street but this can be hard to find as parking seems to be an issue in Tenerife
Friendly staff
My husband and I stayed here while on holiday for 1 night in Oct 2011. This stay was part of a tour package so we did not have a choice when we stayed there. We were supposed to have one night here, then 5 nights on another island, followed by one final night here. After staying here one night, we opted to forgo staying again and found another hotel instead.
The sign outside is somewhat hidden as the entrance requires you to climb one set of steps before entering the lobby area. The receptionist we had was friendly enough, but spoke very little english and our "tour guide" needed to translate for us when we checked in. As we arrived around 1 pm, our room wasn't ready yet and we were told it would be a few minutes. After waiting about 5-10 minutes, we were then told it would be another 20 minutes so we decided to store our luggage and have lunch.
The luggage room is non-existent and certainly not secure as it is the same room as the internet room (no door, no attendant, and no lock), and I would be surprised if it could fit more than 2 large suitcases without getting overcrowded. The lift was even smaller, not much bigger than an empty telephone booth, and extremely slow. Again, you would be hard-pressed to fit more than two pieces of luggage in there. It would definitely not fit more than 2 people with baggage.
Our room faced the petrol station across the street so it was very noisy. Another negative is that it was quite hot, as there was no air conditioning, and even with the window open.
I have rated this one 3 as it is cheap and functional but as we were stayed in a variety of hotels during our stay in Tenerife, I would recommend paying 20 euros more for a room for 2 at the Sol Princesa Dacil which also includes breakfast.
Room Tip: Whether staying or not, the restaurant next to it has excellent value for money and a great atmosphe...
