“Feb 2012”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

The hotel was very convenient for the beaches and bus station. Rooms are very small, very basic and not very brightly lit. Plenty hot water! 2 beds, 2 chairs, small wardrobe and a small desk. Free wi-fi on bottom floor only.Very clean and staff very friendly. We booked self-catering which was non-existent.....(this is misrepresentation) we had to ask for a kettle, 2 cups & a fan which was made available. There are no other facilities in the rooms. TV lounge is downstairs. Pizzeria under the hotel. Very noisy on a busy road....we were also opposite a bottle bank which added to the noise at night. Small balcony overlooking the road with very difficult to open patio doors and shutters. Guests banging doors through the night. Talked to other guests that paid anything from 18€ to 30€ per night...we paid £50 per night through Alpha-rooms.com who refuse to refund anything although we did not get self-catering facilities. Now taking some legal advice. This hotel is good value for a couple of nights stay but not for a prolonged holiday.

Room Tip: Good for overnight stay but too confined for a week or more holiday

“Great for overnight stay on way to La Gomera”

Good value, basic accommodation in centre of Los Cristianos. Stayed here as plane arrived too late to get last ferry to La Gomera. 5 minutes walk from bus station; 10 from ferry. Perfect. Yes, it could be noisy and you might not want to stay if you are after anything other than basics. But it's clean and hospitable and you'll probably spend more on dinner than on accommodation.

“noisy place and rusty bath”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

We stayed at Hotel Andrea's for one night before taking our return flight. Previous comments were average, so we went with moderate expectations but they weren't met. There was a 3cm gap between the sliding doors of the balcony which looks over the petrol station and a noisy street. This makes soundproofing more or less inexistant. We were woken up by a cleaning machine that passed along the street very slowly at 2 am. It took more than half an hour before we could not hear it anymore. The bathroom was below average with rusty marks on the bath and black marks on the toilet seat. There was dust in the bath when we arrived. The whole room seemed old-fashioned but clean. It is not expensive, but efforts could be made to improve soundproofing and renovate the bathroom. It seems there are rooms on the other side of the building which may be less noisy. A hotel ok to stay at for one night, not more.

“Functional but felt like a hostel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

Overall

Negatives:
Room was unusually hot and noisy, with a poor view
Room was not clean
Poor water pressure in the shower
No breakfast
No security for your luggage
Lack of english-speaking staff
Tiny lift/elevator that is VERY slow, and you must climb one set of stairs to enter the hotel
Beds are hard
Dim lighting throughout the room

Positives:
Location wasn't bad, as not far from pedestrian boulevard and about a 10-minute walk to the beach
Good if you just want a basic, cheap place to stay with no frills
A few good inexpensive restaurants nearby
There is parking on the street but this can be hard to find as parking seems to be an issue in Tenerife
Friendly staff

My husband and I stayed here while on holiday for 1 night in Oct 2011. This stay was part of a tour package so we did not have a choice when we stayed there. We were supposed to have one night here, then 5 nights on another island, followed by one final night here. After staying here one night, we opted to forgo staying again and found another hotel instead.

The sign outside is somewhat hidden as the entrance requires you to climb one set of steps before entering the lobby area. The receptionist we had was friendly enough, but spoke very little english and our "tour guide" needed to translate for us when we checked in. As we arrived around 1 pm, our room wasn't ready yet and we were told it would be a few minutes. After waiting about 5-10 minutes, we were then told it would be another 20 minutes so we decided to store our luggage and have lunch.

The luggage room is non-existent and certainly not secure as it is the same room as the internet room (no door, no attendant, and no lock), and I would be surprised if it could fit more than 2 large suitcases without getting overcrowded. The lift was even smaller, not much bigger than an empty telephone booth, and extremely slow. Again, you would be hard-pressed to fit more than two pieces of luggage in there. It would definitely not fit more than 2 people with baggage.

Our room faced the petrol station across the street so it was very noisy. Another negative is that it was quite hot, as there was no air conditioning, and even with the window open.

I have rated this one 3 as it is cheap and functional but as we were stayed in a variety of hotels during our stay in Tenerife, I would recommend paying 20 euros more for a room for 2 at the Sol Princesa Dacil which also includes breakfast.

Room Tip: Whether staying or not, the restaurant next to it has excellent value for money and a great atmosphe...
