We had an absolut perfect visit to Villa Mandi. We stayed for a week in the middle of January of 2012. I think we got the best apartment, room 301, by the far end of the hotel, overlooking the mountains and a golf course (hole 3) where a big heron had it´s dwelling. Our terrace/balcony was a good 20 sqm with two sunbeds for relaxing times. It was fun looking at golfers hitting and driving around in their cars and shouting "Fore!". The one bedroom apartment (with a bed-settee in the living room for our 5 and 8 yrs old kids) was really spacious. It was nice and tidy and very fresh. The WIFI was cheap (10 euro for 72 hours of internet - I used 10-15 of them during our 7 day stay) but the strength of the WIFI were many times very poor. Maybe because we stayed in the far end of the complex. The breakfast was ok. We didn´t eat any dinners at the hotel, instead we went to restaurants by the beach. It took us a 20-25 minute walk in to town with the kids. In town there was some really good shopping (a big Zara shop, a Nike store and a range of other designer brand shops). As we are all tennis addicts we searched for tennis courts and found two hard courts 5-10 minutes from Villa Mandi, at the Jesús Domínguez "El Grillo" Sports Center. One hour was €3 and you booked at the office by the courts. We have absolutely nothing to complain about and would easily go back to Villa Mandi again if we get the 301 apartment.

We just came back from a week's vacation with the kids (8 and 15 years old) at Villa Mandi. We booked our trip through the Swedish travel agent Ving which advertised Villa Mandi as a 4 star resort. It didn't quite live up to our expentations.

The pool is advertised as heated which it isn't. Apparently there is a new law in Tenerife which prohibits the hotels to heat their swimming pools. Although the hotel said that there was something wrong with the heating system when we asked. So the pool was freezing, even colder than the sea.

The cleaning services left a lot to desire. The sheets were not changed for a week, the floors never mopped (sand all over) and the bathroom was poorly cleaned. We also had an incident with a wrist watch found broken in our room (which was not reimbursed by the hotel). Be prepared to sleep on very hard beds. My back was killing me after a couple of nights.

We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel. The breakfast buffet was nice with a wide selection. Although the coffee was weak. I would not recommend having dinner at the hotel. Even though the selection was quite wide, the food was tasteless and often lukewarm. Kids were happy about the icecream bar. :-)

On the positive side were the activities for the kids. A very enthusiastic Alex organized fun games and activities for the children every day. There was also nightly shows (parrot show from Loro Park) and mini disco for the young ones.

We also liked the pool area and resort architecture. It felt warm and welcoming. It was also very easy to find parking in the street in front of the hotel.

This place is fantastic! Wether you're a family with older/younger kids, a couple, on you're own or with all of your friends, I reccomend the beautiful Mandi! I have stayed here twice now (both times in room 348 by request) and cannot imagine a better place to be. With a balcony looking over the entire resort, it is still quiet and on the top floor. Any requests you have will be met (or at the very least dealt with) by the polite, helpful and hilarious Tony the Receptionist and Annabella the Boss. We have never visited with small children, but that by no way means that the entertainment staff don't have time for you - full of life and willing to work their bones off to make your stay enjoyable. Dawn, Stuie, Becca and Jack just too name a few, were there everyday putting smiles on faces!
Ignore these lazy people who can't be bothered to take a leisurely strole down town. The taxis are cheap enough and its a beautiful walk down in the evenings. If you think this is the middle of nowhere, try living in the North of Scotland! Go on, take a walk, your on holiday! you may even see some lizards and odd looking birds!
We went to Mandi in May, and never had a problem with sun loungers, although we never actually used one, choosing to sit at the bar chatting to the witty, hardworking barman Steve and co. The housekeeping staff are also very helpful and friendly, just be patient, they will do their best to help you. And remember, these are APARTMENTS. You have to do your own cleaning!
If you want a stuffy, dirty, loud, busy, hightower hotel in the centre of a nightclub town, this isn't the place for you. And if you don't find something enjoyable about the Mandi, I suggest you stay at home next time, because holidays obviously are not your thing.------Boosh xXx

We stayed at the Villa Mandi between the 4th and 11th December with our 14 year old son.The hotel was lovely just like the weather.We had a huge room which could have slept 6 comfortabley with an upstairs and 3 large balconies and 2 bathrooms.Rooms where spotless and very comfortable. The poolside was very clean with lovely clear water in both pools.Never a problem getting a lounger as hotel was quiet at this time of year which was lovely for us.
It did take about 20 minutes to walk to the town centre or beach which didnt bother us at all as we dont mind walking and when we got there it was very loud and busy so staying at the Villa Mandi set away from the hussel and bussel was quite a bonus especially on a night time.
Food was nice at the hotel but a bit expensive and the same with the on site supermarket.Going to a 24 hour supermarket in the town is cheaper.Overall a lovely relaxing holiday with friendly staff.would I stay again ,yes I would .
