“very old and average”

We had to relocate to Sol Princesa Dacil as our initial hotel was overbooked as it turned out on-site. Otherwise would never choose this place - it may be good for some tourists but not for us.
It is located in the center of a mass-market resort Los Christianos which looks very cheap and overcrowded (in comparison with Costa Adeje, e.g.)
The hotel is very old - dating back to 1972 if I am not mistaken.
The room was big but again old with poor noise isolation.
The food was less than average, untasty and very basic.

The beach 10 min walk - Las Vistas - was ok.

“Top middleclass hotel”

We had 7 wonderful days at Princesa Dacil - very clean and with friendly staff. Only minus is that there is no heated pool and that for dinner you can wait a long time for wine and soft drinks..
Food was plenty, allthough there very few changes in menu from day to day. And we had dinner out in town some days to get out of the noisy and hot dining hall.
Clean towels and sheets every day, and a fine room with hot water all day.
We can surely recommend the hotel, but think about the All incl. as this may be too expensive compared to the quality of the food and drinks.

“Good value for the price”

Me and the hubby were at this hotel from the 23rd to 30th December, our first time in Los Cristianos and a holiday over Christmas. The location was excellent, just 5 minutes off the beach and in easy walking distance of the shops and bars overlooking the beach. Although the hotel is a bit dated, the public areas were clean. We upgraded to all inclusive on arrival and paid 10euros each per day - well worth doing as the drinks were usual hotel prices (expensive). Our room was number 323 overlooking the pool. The room was spacious with plenty of storage areas. The bathroom was fine, with the towels being changed every day. I agree with other reviewers about the beds... a little too hard for us. The pool area had quite a few trees around it so we found that the sunniest places had the dreaded "reserved" towels over the sunbeds - but there is a terrace which was in the sunshine all day so we used that. We found the food plentiful, a bit bland and repetitive but unfortunately not as hot as it could have been - so we just popped it into the microwave in the restaurant. The most disappointing part about the restaurant and food was the Gala Buffet advertised in our brochure for Christmas night.... mainly because it was non-existent!! We got to the restaurant expecting at least to see crackers or decorations on the tables but there wasnt anything and the Gala Buffet meal was exactly what it was every night -the only concession was some form of pate by the cold meat and salami section. Had we realised that some of the lovely restaurants in Los Cristianos were open on Christmas Night we would have gone out and eaten there. This hotel is value for money for the 3* rating and we enjoyed our holiday there, We would return to Tenerife, but not to this hotel simply because we like to try different places

“Don't judge a book by its cover”

My husband and I moved to this hotel after a horrifying experience at the Hotel Catalonia Punta Del Rey in Las Caletillas.

What a breath of fresh air. It looks like a tower block and I was anxious as we approached the hotel but inside it is lovely.

We stayed half board and found it to be great. You can swap your evening meal for lunch whenever you want if you say by 8pm on the previous night and you can upgrade to all inclusive for 10€

Food - There is loads of choice: fresh and varied salads with a multitude of dressings, great selection of breads, fish and meat cooked for you to your liking and for people who like home comforts, even HP sauce. The puddings and fresh fruit are lovely and eveything is replenished regularly.

Staff - the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant staff clear your plates as soon as you are finished and the reception staff were very helpful.

Rooms - the rooms are spotless and bright and airy. There is plenty of room too. The only downside is there is no hairdryer, the TV only has British news and our balcony faced the car park. It was very quiet though, the beds are comfortable and there is loads of storage space. If you want to use an iron, fridge or other amenities, it does cost a fair bit though per day.

Pool - the pool is cold but clean and is surrounded by palm trees. There are not so many loungers but there are additional loungers and space at the side of the crazy golf.

We can't comment on the price of drinks as we didn't really drink in the hotel - water at dinner is very expensive though 2.20€ for a small bottle and you don't get a free drink with your lunch or evening meal which we have previously had half board. Also, we didn't watch the evening entertainment but it was the same as usual on offer in the Canaries i.e. snake man, Grease show, dancing etc. there is bingo at 4pm every day and the animation stuff looked good.

It is also only 20 mins on the bus to the airport(number 111 and 1.90€) and you can leave your luggage in the left luggage room at the hotel so it means if you have a late flight, you can spend your last day at the beach which is only a 10 minute walk away.

Los Cristianos is a bit tacky but is quieter than Las Americas, it is mainly older people but we find it to be lively and relaxed at the same time. You cannot beat the weather in Winter and everything is very convenient. The beaches are lovely too - not too packed and the sea is clean. We have never had a bad meal there and if you are short on cash, the 'Menu del dia' is great value.

My husband and I stayed here over the Christmas and New Year. Not much happening at Christmas But a good night for the New Year. Our first time on Tenerife but we realy enjoyed it . Good resort, Great hotel and lots of friendly people; The hotel was very clean, rooms cleaned every day with clean towels and bed linen. My Husband was ok but the bed was too hard for me I had to put blankets on the matress to make it a little softer. This was the only compaint we had.We went all inclusive and it was well worth it although we couldn't eat all the food available to eat. The food was plain but good there was always something to eat and enjoy. The hotel was a bit dated but good value for what we paid. Staff were frendly and the entertainment staff were excellent,As good as in any 4 or 5 star.
